WE cancelled this topic last week. Punishment was given and that is the way it is. Forget It. Let's move on neither team is going very far in the playoffs, thanks,

Keep holding the morally outraged position, it suits you. I guess when all the people in your family coached, you had control of everything that happened on the court. Never once did a transgression mar your perfect record. My best to you all and give St Peter a hello from those of us striving to get to your level.

I don't care if this is "old" news. I mean we bring up plenty of things that happened a week or so ago but just because of this certain incident we should shut it down? I think it's worth talking about. It's interesting and think longthreegood brings up a good point. I know certain people are just annoyed and frustrated with the topic so just stay away lol.

With that being said, the punishment did not fit the crime. I could see the 2 game suspension if it was just one time incident, but with it happening more than once, she should be done for the year. Pushing and shoving happens, you get t'd up or worse case get tossed for just that game, but to litterally throw a punch is just uncalled for. And knowing that a girl that just happened to shove this girl back gets the same punishment is absurd.

Not much happening in Middle Point during the winter....I did notice that both girls played last night, so I assume they are moving on...both accepted their given penalty and are ready to finish their basketball careers and move on to spring sports....as I stated before.....nothing was swept under the rug...punishment handed out and served...a few are still grinding the ax thinking the DSJ girl caught a break.....this will be my last post on this subject....move on people....although I must admit...I am still stinging from Obama's re election!!!!! :furious:

Ya I thought the DSJ caught a huge break and maybe it was a little unfair especially since her and the Lincolnview girl got the same punishment. But oh well I guess. I can understand if some are frustrated with this whole thing because it is a big deal but nothing we can do about it anymore. Hopefully she has learned and won't be seeing any fists flying in the Ottoville game this Saturday night lol.

Well, did DSJ call Lincolnview and ask how they were punishing their player first?

I've been involved in situations where a coach had to discipline a player and believe me-you are never going to satisfy everybody. I think most coaches probably want to give the player the benefit of the doubt....but fans-especially opposing fans wnat the book thrown at'em...no-win situation.

Headlines from Toledo News.........

"BREAKING: 2 girls started fighting at Scott High School tonight during the basketball game. Police showed up and used mace to break it up."

at least it wasn't the players.......and, it was in Toledo, though.

I do not agree with the actions of the DSJ girl and I personally feel that additional punishment could have been justified. However, in all actuality, she has been punished with a 2 game suspension...2 more games than required (unlike L'view girl) who was required by the state to sit two games after being ejected. DSJ has stepped in and taken action in a situation that was not required of them to do so because it was the RIGHT thing to do! Also, didn't DSJ take the high road on the adult who physically attacked the school official after the game? But how quick are the "anti-Johnny's" to forget this.

I love how quick people are to throw stones when I'm sure opening their own closet door would reveal many skeletons as well!!!

What the H is going on in DSJ land - parents going after officials, girls punching/getting punched??

I watched the fight on tv last night at Toledo Scott - what a joke. Inner city athletics are about to be done if this continues in Toledo. Its my understanding they cannot even play football at night with a few schools due to gang related incidents. What next? I must admit watching everyone run away when the mace came out was rather hilarious. I have never seen this in over 20 yrs of watching small school basketball/football/baseball.

I can remember back in the late 60's when another Dayton team traveled to play Dunbar.....we used to play Dunbar....now, if you aren't familiar with their school then, well it was rather intimidating when you traveled there and got off the bus...you get a real eery feeling...kind of like...."what are we doing here"....well, this school beat Dunbar in a close game, and when the visiting players and coaches came out of the gym to board the bus to go home, the Dunbar fans had torched it....so, what is happening now is rather minor when you consider this event.......and now you know the rest of the story!!!!!

Lack of institutional control. No way dsj can justify the results.
