Did not attend but friends informed me that the bad feelings and ill will from last year's soccer game might have carried over to the game tonight. I will let the eye witnesses give the details but there was an ejection (probably should have been 2) and police on site for the end of the game. Wonder if the schools might need to take a break for a couple years?

I wondered if there was some history to this incident. And I have never seen anything like it before either.

Yea, it was a total shame.........if the girl from DSJ was at fault, I can definitely say that it will be handled properly....look for suspensions or some type of punishment......BZ will do the right thing....there is no room for this in sports...whether girls or boys!!!!!!!

I was just thinking......this should make for a real interesting atmosphere at Lincolnview for the boys game Saturday!!!

Mysterio.....

What happened makes us Blue Jays look pretty bad......it's a bad reflection on our school, and I am sure disciplinary action will be taken....I really don't want to go into it right now......just received another call about the incident....one word describes this.....ugly!!

I was there. There was some rough play and a DSJ player committed an intentional foul. I've been told there are some very hard feelings from the girls soccer matches last fall. I don't know if that factored into the situation. The intentional foul was not the story, that stuff happens. It was the reaction of the Lincolnview player who was fouled. I'm not sure what there is to hide or sweep under the carpet.

Bobby.......

I think you are right about some bad feelings from soccer entering into it, but did you miss some of the action because the story I am getting makes things sound much more serious....a meeting was scheduled for today to sort things out concerning the girl involved and I would think some sort of disciplinary action will come about.....of course this all depends on parents, coaches, AD and so forth.....in that situation, with 3 refs involved, and all claiming that all they saw was the retaliation from the L'view girl...3 refs and no one saw exactly what happened.....that film from the game will prove very interesting...........as far as the event itself, I have seen incidents like this in many boys game..........a certain player from Van Wert...I will not mention names was noted for this, and I witnessed it more than once from him......it is so unfortunate, but in the heat of battle, there seems no limit as to what can happen.....the DSJ player is a good person and I am sure she feels terrible at the moment, but if you compete and lose it for a moment....well, sometimes that moment does not reflect one's normal personality!!!!!

Most kids are good persons, but some times thing happen, let's not sugar coat this. If she was out of line, then suspend her.

It seems as the refs are letting way to much rough play go on this year. The refs should not have let it get that bad. There are girls going home almost after every game with bruises and welts. This could be the reason for more and more injuries occurring. Every girl thinks they have to be more aggressive then everyone else and that gives them an advantage becuase the refs are letting it go.

Not sure why a girl would commit an intentional foul if you are beating your opponent unless it is to inflict harm but I still blame it on the refs.

I was at the game and have watched the incident 5 times on tape. Here is the incident: The Lincolnview girl was guarding the DSJ girl on the left side of the basket. For about 10 to 15 seconds both were keeping their hands on each other. Nothing to call a foul on but a good time for a ref to stop the game and tell both to cut it out. You see this a lot in games in the post area. They end up at the top of the key around the 3 point line and the DSJ girl turns and punches the Lincolnview girl in the face. The Lincolnview girl reacts by pushing the DSJ girl away with both hands around the shoulders. The Refs jump in and separate the 2. Lincolnview coach comes on the floor and is keeping his girl away from the DSJ girl. I have also watched another tape of DSJ playing New Knoxville were this same girl punches a girl as they run down the lane. No refs or coaches saw this but you see it clear as day on the film.

Punching another girl in a game just happens??? To hide or sweep under the carpet--how about this is not being the 1st incident and maybe not the 2nd. I am being told by a Coach that this happen in another game beside the Lincolnview and NK game. Trying to get the tape. How about bringing her back and playing her in the whole 4th quarter. Are you telling me I am the only one in the gym that saw this last night? Are you telling me no one else has seen the NK game tape?

Why is it, people always blame it on the officials. The officials are not the parents of these kids, they are the middle man or woman. Come on let's make the kids, parents & coaches responsible. You fine people in NW Ohio, blame it on the officials. If it was flagarent suspend her.
