The infamous Daytona 500 is creeping around the corner. Just a couple more weeks for the "super bowl" of NASCAR to launch off another great season. Broadcasted from the beautiful Daytona Beach, Florida. Anyone else anxious to get this season started, with all the shuffling of team members, new rules, and new cars!!??

Anyone bold enough to make a prediction on who will win??
....I'm not quite ready to make any predictions..but in a week...Ill have a good guess.

I think this season will be a very good one. I don't have a prediction yet either.

with all the problems team Ernhardt has had this off season I expect them to start the season with a boom..

I don't have an opinion yet either, I just hope Toyota and Michael Waltrip don't do any good, I predict they won't...if they even make the race.
GO 24!!

Nice job for Yates racing.
My wish for Waltrip and Toyotas seems to be coming true with poor qualifying results and Michael having his car taken away thumbup1.gif

I'm sure its just an engine malfunction like Waltrip thinks.... sarcasm.gif

Go Kasey Kahne!!

Doesn't look like Kahne is going anywhere with Kenny Francis for 4 weeks! MAJOR setback for Evernham racing, all three crew chiefs out for at least two weeks.

Well, the Duels are over and we know who's in and who's not. Somehow Michael Waltrip squeaked in, but only after recieving the hugest dockage in NASCAR points ever. 100 POINTS and 100 GRAND He said he didn't even want to race.
Tony Stewart wins the first, and JEFF GORDON WINS NUMBER TWO.
Too bad Jeff won't start 4th, something bad happened and he'll start 2nd last. thumbdown.gif Thankfully NASCAR knows they didn't do anything wrong on purpose, it was an accident. No points docked and no other penalties.

My guess is Toyota wanted to start the year out with a bang and try to prove themselves worthy of stock car racing. They sure started off with a bang, maybe they will end the weekend with a crash. I would have liked to see them kicked out of the race altogether for attempting to use rocket fuel during qualifying.

I don't know the rules for nascar but I thought when the yellow came out that is your spot. When this crash occurred Martin was in the lead by a few feet but they never put out the caution. I know the two lead cars had nothing to do in the crash but when there's a wreck it should come out. My opinion, Martin got screwed.
