Am I the only one who can't wait till Speedweeks start in Daytona in February? Testing began this week, a lot of different names are on top. Hopefully the Toyotas and Michael Waltrip never find the speed. I think my man Flash Gordon #24 will start picking up the pace and more wins starting with the 500. Post your thoughts on Toyota's entry into NASCAR as well as your favorite driver.
This is the only sport I truly care about, I don't know what to do with myself on Sundays from December through January.

On a sad note, former Winston Cup driver and Truck Series champ Bobby Hamilton died this past weekend due to neck cancer. He was a fun guy to listen to and was respected by all other drivers.
Again sad, Benny Parsons was hospitalized and put into ICU about a week or two ago due to complications from his lung cancer. I thought he was out of the woods from that, since he did the races after treatment, but I guess you never know. Today, NASCAR.com updated and said he was stabilized, but still in critical condition. Hopefully he pulls through.

Its always nice to hear from another Gordon fan. I think after the Super Bowl is over i will start to get ready for the new season. Right now there is just to many other things to occupy my time. I do think next year is going to be a very exciting one though. Hopefully Gordon can have a great year.

Yuck, Gordon fans. I always was an Earnhardt fan but I just kind of stopped watching after his death.

Can't wait until i hear the header pipes roar in February and then can't wait until June to attend Michigan and feel the power. Always enjoy seeing all of my friends up there as well.
Also love watching IRL races. Sammy has to get northwest ohio pumped if you enjoy racing. thumbup1.gif

Not that much longer all you NASCAR FANS! I can't wait to hear those famous four words to start off the 2007 season. "Gentalmen START YOUR ENGINES". Plus I might possibly get to go to Bristol this year, so that adds to the excitement. Ive been a NASCAR fan for a long time but I've never been to a race. Im hoping that isn't the case this year.

I went to the Brickyard way back in like 1995 or some time around there...also watched a truck race there that was pretty cool because they had a female driver and she wrecked and broke the wall!

Hearing of BP's death today, I wish I could hear one of his broadcasts right now. Always enjoyed him. He was commonfolk. Rest in peace Benny, this year won't be the same without you.

What, What??!!! There are some more GORDON fans out there!!?? I thought I was alone. Favorite driver no doubt, along with the Petty family. I was lucky enough to win a trip to the '98 Daytona 500. Met the whole Petty family, Richard, Kyle, Patty, and the late Adam Petty. Awesome, great, down to earth people. Actually cooked out with Kyle outside of his motorhome on the infeild during the Busch race...just great times!!!!
-I tell you guys....you have to make it to Bristol. Went this past Sharpie 500 and was the time of my life. Great seats all around, mine were right into turn one and two. The whole Nextel Cup Race, didnt get up once for a potty break, didnt want to miss any action. But just the atmosphere around that town for the whole weekend from Thursday untill Sunday night, just awesome!!!!
-Toyota in NASCAR...quite sad. But what can we do about it. They will embarrass themselves enough when it comes raceday, and we wont need to say a thing. haha.

I too wish that I could make it to the Bristol race....that has to be the best...the reason I dont think toyota should be in the league because their is enough races that are forein why add more...

Front Row Joe, I would agree with you that Bristol would be an awesome race to go to. I actually might get to go this year! But I really want to go to Talladega. I dunno why but there is just something about it that makes me really want to go to a race there. biggrin.gif

Talladega would be a pretty nice race to get too. I think I would still take Bristol though, just being sooo close to the action and not missing one thing at all. Get those binoculars out and check out all the beautiful NASCAR wives!!! Which I have NEEVVEERR done when I was there. wink.gif

I went to Eldora over the summer this year. It is quite enjoyable and I really wouldn't call myself much of a race fan.
