There are alot of good athletes in the area...who do you see moving on to Regionals (top 4 at districts in each event)...and then to State (top 4 at regionals)....and finally...top 8 at State??? There is alot to kick around isnt there...lol. Give your guesses. This is a fun time of year as the athletes begin to hit some of their best times/distances. The elimination process begins, and some people come out of nowhere to shine. This is like the March Madness thing really....just track and field's version of it.

Cory Rawson should have their 4x1(45.2) and 4x2 (1:34 with bad hand off) qualify for regionals, along with their jr. 110 hurdler Lucas Hosrtman (14.16) jr. Sean Sewell in the 200(22.7) and possibly in the long jump (19' 8") and finally sr. Kaleb Stewart in the pole vault (13' 4")

I saw the Horstman Kid run....he is a talented hurdler that should do better than 5th at state in the 110 hurdles this year. I have no idea about the rest of your list?

P-G Came out of regionals with quite a few advancing.
On the Boys side the 4x2(Ross Diller, Derek Morrison, Levi Arthur, Sam Spallinger) are going to state. Not sure of their times.. Spallinger also made it in the 100, 200 and long jump. Also the 4x8(Justin Maag, Josh Augsburger, Derek Neise, Thomas Hochstettler) finished fourth. Hochstettler also came in second at high jump.
For the girls Ashley Sprunger was the only one to advance with a 5.18 in the mile.

When i was looking at this post I realized that Ross Diller used to go to Bluffton, and that Sam Spallinger, although homeschooled at the time, was registered through Bluffton. Can you imagine the Bluffton relays if both of those boys still went there? WOW! Just an interesting bit of info.

Good luck to all the local D-3 NW Ohio athletes on their way to state.
Taking a look at the entries, I figure Bluffton should win it all - look for Guangenti to win the 200, 400 and be on the winning 4x4 and already record setting 4x200 team. Place should score high in the shot too.
I think Gilmour Academy will be runner-up with Dayton Christian, Waynesfield-Goshen, Columbus Grove, New Bremen and Delphos St Johns following.
Liberty Benton also has some quality athletes competing - Butler could win the 800m and their 4x400 relay team should place in the top 5. L-B will be my favorite for the 2009 State title.

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run to win, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you get the prize! 1 Cor 9:23

Good Luck to the Lady Green of Ottoville. Their 4 x 800m relay, 4 x 400 m relay both qualified and Shayla Siefker in the 1600m and Molly Maag in the 800m have good chances of getting on the podium. Kari Beining, Melissa Turnwald and Holly Heitmeyer are members of the the relays.
Congratulations to all of you for what you have accomplished so far. You all have had a terrific year and the Ottoville community is proud of you. Also, Congratulations to the rest of the Lady Green track team. Without your support and effort to push these competitors in practice and meets up to this point, they would not be where they are today. You are to be commended for your efforts too.
