She qualified for the state meet in four events last season. She and Langenkamp, Hague and Roth will score the majority of the Bulldogs’ points this season.

Coach: Pete Lisi Years at School, career record: 1 Division: II Last year’s record: NA Top returning athletes: Ashley Kanney (distances), Maria Wermert (pole vault, hurdles), Kara Uhlenhake (hurdles) Promising newcomers: Larissa Kohn (distances), Veronica Bruns (hurdles, 400) Outlook: Coach Lisi says the Cavaliers will try to improve their standing in the Midwest Athletic Conference because, “If you can compete in the MAC, you can compete at the state level.”

Columbus Grove

Coach: Tim Staley Division: III Last year’s record: NA Top returning athletes: Jaimie Lewis (sprints, relays), Grace Needler (relays), Ashley Bonner (throws), Ella Diller (relays), Kimberly Selhorst (sprints, long jump), Amber Harshman (distances), Alex Miller (discus), Paige Heffner (relays), Emily Stephens (sprints) Promising newcomers: Kelsey Fruchey, Nikki Rucker, Wynn Mayberry Outlook: The Bulldogs won the Putnam County League and Northwest Conference and were regional runner-up last season. They expect good things again this year. Lewis, Needler, Diller and Heffner placed at state last year. Miller was the Putnam County League champion in the discus.

Crestview

Coach: Brad Perrott Years at School, career record: 2, NA Division: III Last year’s record: 10-63 Top returning athletes: Sagan King, Lauren Thompson, Keri McClure, Rachael Hall, Shena Simmons, Natalie Collins, Hannah Saylor, Sarah Taylor, Natalie Frey, Katie Thompson Promising newcomers: Kierston Barney, Leslie Densel, Nina Miller Outlook: The Knights will be looking to improve on last year’s ninth-place finish in the Northwest Conference.

Delphos Jefferson

Coach: Ryan Carder Years at School, career record: 3, NA Division: III Last year’s record: NA Top returning athletes: Kayla Mullenhour (high jump, sprints), Adrian Kimmet (distances), Emily Edinger (shot put, discus), Mallorie Wilson (shot put, discus), Stacey Blockberger (pole vault, shot put, discus), Tiffany Semrock (sprints), Emily Van Grootheest (sprints, hurdles) Outlook: The Wildcats have no returning juniors or seniors, but coach Carder says they can be competitive by combining the experience of the sophomore class with a strong freshman class.

Delphos St Johns

Top returning athletes: Lauren Burgei (400, relays), Erin Calvelage (distances), Katie Grothouse (pole vault), Lindsey Looser (sprints), Dana Martin (sprints), Rachel Miller (shot put, discus), Tracy Miller (shot put, discus), Victoria Recker (sprints, hurdles, long jump), Allison Reindel (sprints), Emily Schwieterman (400, 800)
Promising newcomers: Bailey Calvelage (long jump, pole vault), Tiffany Geise (high jump), Alicia Ankerman (hurdles, pole vault)
Outlook: Sprints, hurdles, pole vaulting and distance running are the things the Blue Jays do well. Allison Reindel was the Midwest Athletic Conference champion in the 100-meter dash and was a state qualifier. The 800 relay and 400 relay teams were MAC champions and placed fifth and seventh at state. Erin Calvelage was seventh in the state in the 3,200-meter run. Grothouse was 10th at state in the pole vault and Recker was a state qualifier in the 300-meter hurdles.

Elida

Coach: Michelle Cahill Years at School, career record: 1 Division: II Last year’s record: 7-2 duals Top returning athletes: Shalamar Howell (800, relays), Emily Kerber (pole vault, shot put, hurdles), Sierra Lohr (high jump, sprints), Kelsey Bagley (middle distances), Nicki Price (shot put, discus, distances), Lynelle Taylor (distances), Toni Manley (sprints), Quanisha McFadden (sprints), Asia Sumpter (sprints) Promising newcomers: Kearston Smith (sprints, relays), Whitney Allen (sprints, relays), Maggie Wheeler (sprints, relays) Outlook: There is depth and some strength in the sprints. Field events need some work and more depth is needed in the distance runs.

Fort Jennings

Coach: Kevin Horstman Years at School, career record: 10, NA Division: III Last year’s record: NA Top returning athletes: Chelsea Chandler (relays), Rachel Grothause (distance), Brittany Piasecki (sprints), Stacie Chandler (middle distances), Katie Von Lehmden (middle distances) Outlook: Above average speed in the sprints and middle-distance races could be the Musketeers’ strength. An overall lack of depth and a lack of experience in the field events could be problems.

Fort Recovery

Coach: Brad Evers Years at School, career record: 1 Division: III Last year’s record: NA Top returning athletes: Tina Roessner (distances), Amber Heitkamp (middle distances), Beth Mulhlenkamp (high jump), Anne Koester (discus, shot put) Outlook: The Indians’ strengths could be in the distance events and the field events.

Lima Senior

Coach: Stephen Carter Years at School, career record: 8, NA Division: I Last year’s record: NA Top returning athletes: Shanice McLellan (sprints, hurdles), Brittany Sterling (sprints, hurdles), Tierra Washington (400, 800), Whitney Glover (shot put, discus), Chari Mault (distances), Trisha Karcher (800, high jump), Whitney Fischer (pole vault, hurdles), Diffini Johnson (middle distances), Chasity Boedicker (middle distances), Martha Arrick (shot put, discus) Promising newcomers: Tierra Walker, Aspen Sybert, Sasha Wyatt Outlook: Coach Carter says this could be the strongest Lima Senior team in the last four years. The Spartans are strong in the hurdles, sprints and jumps.

Marion Local

Coach: Matt Schackers, Rod Pleiman, Randy Jutte Years at School, career record: NA Division: III Last year’s record: NA Top returning athletes: Kathy Dirksen (shot put), Elizabeth Reichert (sprints, relays), Allison Bruns (sprints, relays), Kristina Bruns (sprints, relays) Promising newcomers: Rachel Hess, Brie Jutte Outlook: Dirksen, who was the Midwest Athletic Conference champion in the shot put and placed eighth at state, is the Flyers’ most proven athlete.

Minster

Coach: Cindy Nelson Years at School, career record: 2, NA Division: III Last year’s record: NA Top returning athletes: Jessica Albers (distances), Bernadette Burke (distance), Lei Bornhorst (distances), Averie Bornhorst (distances), Katie Dahlinghaus (middle distances), Jackie Richard (sprints), Alyssa Kemper (sprints) Promising newcomers: The Wildcats have 14 freshmen on their roster. Outlook: The Wildcats’ distance runners are the foundation of the team. Their cross country team finished third in the Division III state tournament last fall.

New Bremen

Coach: Sue Ritter

Top returning athletes: Lauryn Bertke (throws), Jackie Dabbelt (discus, sprints), Renee Dicke (hurdles, sprints), Taylor Jones (sprints, long jump, relays), Alexis Schwartz (middle distances, sprints, relays), LeAnn Topp (high jump), Emily Rutschilling (pole vault, long jump)
Outlook: Jones (1,600 relay, 3,200 relay) and Lori Timmerman (3,200 relay) were state competitors last season. Jones has been a part of four New Bremen school records and Timmerman has been part of three. Dicke was a regional qualifier in the hurdles and Topp reached the regional in the high jump. A strong freshman class could fill some of the holes left by graduation.

New Knoxville

Coach: Nick Wirwille Years at School, career record: 3, NA Division: III Last year’s record: NA Top returning athletes: Natasha Fullenkamp (shot put, discus), Katie Wirwille (sprints), Casey Horstman (relays), Andrea Hoenie (sprints), Taylor Arnett (hurdles, relays) Promising newcomers: Amanda Scherer (distances) Outlook: Fullenkamp, who was the Midwest Athletic Conference champion in the discus and threw close to 120 feet, leads the Rangers.

Ottawa-Glandorf

Coach: Vicki Doty Years at School, career record: 33, NA
Division: II
Last year’s record: 60-9
Top returning athletes: Lyndsey Barlage (distances, relays), Jaymee Bockrath (hurdles, sprints, relays), Jenna Ellerbrock (sprints, relays), Emily Heitmeyer (sprints, distances, relays), Chelsea Imm (pole vault), Allison Schroeder (hurdles, sprints, middle distances, relays), Abbie Selhorst (distances)
Outlook: Schroeder won the 300-meter hurdles state championship last year and has signed with Notre Dame. Seven Titans have qualified for the state meet during their careers and a total of 12 letter winners are back. O-G has won the last four Western Buckeye League championships and will be trying to add to that this year. Also, the Titans would like to send a large number of athletes to the state meet.

Ottoville

Coach: Vaughn Horstman Years at School, career record: 17 Division: III Last year’s record: NA Top returning athletes: Krystal Markward (sprints), Chelsea Bowers (hurdles), Tricia Honigford (high jump, sprints), Brittany Beining (shot put, discus), Janelle Becker (distances), Molly Maag (distances), Holly Heitmeyer (hurdles, sprints), Melissa Turnwald (distances) Promising newcomers: 17 freshmen are on the roster. Outlook: Maag was a state qualifier in the 800-meter run last year. Bowers and Honigford were regional qualifiers. The Big Green expect to be strong in the distances after the cross country team was a regional qualifier last fall.

Parkway

Coach: Michelle Agler

Top returning athletes: Niquie Berry (shot put, discus), Marian Bevington (long jump, hurdles), Brittany Hesse (400, relays), Amanda On (sprints, relays), Ashley Stose (long jump, sprints, relays), Ashley Trafzer (hurdles, sprints)
Promising newcomers: Alexis Bates, Tam Luth, Olivia Houts, Claire Burtch, Elesha Long, Kelsey Bates
Outlook: Bevington was the Midwest Athletic Conference champion in the 100-meter hurdles and the long jump and the district champion in both those events. She finished fourth in the state in the hurdles and seventh in the long jump. Overall, the Panthers have just one senior, Berry, and not a lot of experience, but hope to surprise people.

Paulding

Coach: Shawn Brewer Years at School, career record: 2, NA Division: II Last year’s record: NA Top returning athletes: Tiffany Anderson (throws), Kara Suffel (distances), Tiffany Razo (jumps, sprints), Abby Gross (hurdles, sprints), Jessica Varner (distances), Eve Kohart (distances), Jaclyn Carr (sprints), Alicia Carnahan (sprints) Promising newcomers: Hayley Clellan (sprints), Rachel Razo (hurdles) Outlook: Coach Brewer calls the outlook “promising” for the Panthers and says the field events and middle distance races could be strong.

Shawnee

Outlook: Foster, Cooper, Laman and Wende were state qualifiers last year. Basinger was a state qualifier two years ago but was injured last season. Shawnee wants to compete for the top three in the Western Buckeye League. The Indians have good depth in the sprints and middle distances but want to improve in the field events.

Spencerville

Coach: Bruce McConnell Years at School, career record: 21, NA Division: III Last year’s record: NA Top returning athletes: Hannah Stober (shot put, discus), Taira Fischer (400, 800 relay), Lauren Suever (hurdles, pole vault), Lyndie Brown (distances), Ashley Gilroy (distances), Devon Keysor (shot put, discus), Kari Wisher (distances) Outlook: Throwing events, distances, hurdles and the pole vault could be strengths for the Bearcats.

St. Henry

Coach: Mike Eyink Years at School, career record: NA Division: III Last year’s record: NA Top returning athletes: Carmen Moorman (sprints), Carla Nietfeld (hurdles), Abby Tobe (distances), Chelsey Tobe (throws) Promising newcomers: Sara Lefeld, Kaitlyn Fidelfo Outlook: The Redskins face the challenge of replacing standout Catie Evers, who graduated, and having only 17 athletes on their roster.

St. Marys

Coach: Dan Cook Years at School, career record: NA Division: II Last year’s record: NA Top returning athletes: Kaysha Dietz (sprints), Leslie Humphrey (pole vault), Sara Wolfe (high jump, hurdles), Lauren Barnes (sprints), Emily Steva (distances) Promising newcomers: Mekayla Breland (shot put, discus), Kursten Fenwick (sprints, long jump) Outlook: The Roughriders are aiming to improve on their seventh-place finish in the Western Buckeye League last season.

Waynesfield-Goshen

Coach: Jim Epperly Years at School, career record: 10, NA Division: III Last year’s record: NA Top returning athletes: Candace Muir (distances), Kelsey Williams (hurdles, pole vault), Kristin Eagle (distances), Rachel Snyder (distances), Elizabeth Miller (throws), Brooke Shaw (throws), Jenalyn Hennon (sprints, hurdles)

Outlook: The Tigers’ goal is to become a contender for the Northwest Central Conference title. Williams was all-league and a regional qualifier in 2007.
