Coach Laux was the HS coach from 1977 until retirement this year. So we're talking apples and oranges here. He's not a club coach.

Back to apples and apples. As I clearly said earlier, of course club teams from the toledo area, or any large urban/suburban area, are going to be better than a Findlay club team due to the 5 player per team rule. The talent pool is larger and draws from mostly DI, established and historically strong programs. Apart from Findlay itself, any Findlay club team has to draw from much smaller and relatively newer programs, hence Pacesetter will usually field a stronger team. Having said that, the players from the smaller schools are getting better and better, the only difference is sheer number of players. I watch a lot of DIII soccer, but played at Findlay & Pacestter so I know both worlds, therefore I feel comfortable in saying that these programs are not nearly as bad you think (not even close), in fact many are comparable to OH ( Cory Rawson from the NCOSA beat O-H).

Alright......... than if u wanna be on a good team u should travel up to toledo or something. And cory rawson could not beat them again if they wanted to.

Well, considering there was no chance for them in last year's district finals either, I'll take your word for for it since you're clearly an expert while everyone is mere simpletons. You obviously are immune to common sense arguments, especially ones that initially support what you yourself say. OH should win this year's European Championships.

Findlay Soccer Club is a successful, community oriented soccer program that gives Findlay kids the opportunity to continue to play soccer outside of the high school season. However, it does not compare to clubs like Sylvania Pacesetter and other bigger clubs that draw from larger areas. Take Northview, for example...a D1 team with around 6-8 kids playing club soccer for the u16 and u17 pacesetter teams....makes it all the way to d1 semi-finals last year. Granted, LB did make it to the regional final, but could have easily been eliminated in sectional (yeah, sectional). Don't forget about their games after that, a close call to Ottoville in there somewhere. And please, something is wrong if Woodmore is in the regional semifinals. I would make a bet that any other d3 team in the state that made it to districts could take down Woodmore without a problem. If LB's players are really serious about soccer, and think they have a shot at making it to state, then they need to surround themselves with better soccer in the offseason. ....yeah, the state league just doesn't cut it. The state league is a good fit for a club like Findlay, dont get me wrong, but it will not take LB to the next level.

Yeah, nobody is denying that they (LB) had a very tough tourney run but the fact still remains that they made it....I am certain there has never ever been another team in the history of the soccer tournaments that had an easy schedule....Its gonna happen, if some other team had done it then it would just be them being talked instead of LB as having an easy trail....

Well thats all I have been able to take from this topic that LB had it easier than everyone else and that except for Pacesetter there are zero good club teams in Ohio....

1) ur right about LB having it easy
2) pacesetter is not the only good club team in ohio. however, in NWO, yeah. internationals, team ohio, cincinatti united, blast fc, are all probably up and dow better clubs.
3) chill out big guy

I love when the Toledo Club teams always look down their noses are the clubs south of them....

....I remember a while back taking 8th then 9th and 10th grade teams from the small schools and we crushed the Mighty Pacesetters and Celtics. 6 or 7-0. Of course that was 12 years ago...

Also it is possible to not have a ton of club players and still go far in the tournament. Rockman's 1998 state semi-final team had 1 player that played club.

Not sure what age group KTC is referring, but I know of one Findlay Club team I think U-16 team playing in the state league (5-1-0). Has players from LB, Napoleon, OG and Findlay....
