nwsoccerfan1, I spit my coffee after I read {3.)MSSL (LB, Genoa, and Eastwood-- half of the leauge could stomp most of the teams in the NCOSA and PCL.. but there lower half keeps them from being higher)} Liberty Benton surely is a program on the rise, but stomp??? No. Genoa has traditionally been good but last year was a bit down talent wise, we'll see if they rebound in'08. Eastwood ok honestly that is where my coffee flew. Sure they had a decent year last year. But traditionally they have not had a strong program for a while.

Also nwsocfan1. The district athletic board does the PCL no favors at all...Only 1 team gets the opportunity to make a tourney run as they all play in the same sectional...Which not many outside teams would like to be in...

...I think you are selling the skill of the WBL VERY short. There are only a few teams that match the skill in the WBL. Led by Findlay and Napoleon. Kalida and Jennings have good skill. Some of the other PCL schools imho need to get away from the longball game.

Toffee I was looking league as a whole. Sure WBL has some bad programs but every league will have some bad. I'd look to see Wapak make some improvements as well as continued progress by St Marys and Kenton. Plus I think even though Elida's record was subpar, look at their schedule...Playing a pretty strong schedule. I will comment however with the exception of Lima Sr, the other GBC would be competitive in some of these other leagues, meaning about even win/losses.

Bill I concede the fact that the PCL is the most balanced league. Take away P-G and you have a competitive match every night. WBL take away the Bottom 2 and you at least get a competitive match from the remaining 8.

i was talking about last year and last year alone GOING2goal.... so my point on Genoa and East wood and LB still stands...(however i did put this league in 2nd to last!) and as for the WBL.. i said "they have a LITTLE less skill then SOME of the schools in the other leagues.. they are still some tremendous teams.. hence i put them NUMBER 1!!!... and as for the PCL schools having to play eachother in the playoffs.. What always happens the game after they play eachother in the playoffs ( this is an honest non smart-alec question.. i honestly do not know)... and to Toffee.. i did say some of the schools not all of them whistling.gif

The only thing i regrett saying in my last post was the word STOMP.. therefor i will be the mature person and say i'm sorry for saying stomp..
but i stand by every other thing i said because i believe it is completley true

Is Bluffton an independent? I look at them as a very competitive team every year. For me being from celina, and playing bluffton in the past, they played really tough against us and most of the other WBL teams. IF they are an independent team I wouldn't mind them stepping in the WBL to give the league more competition I mean heck they play pretty much every WBL team in their schedule so if they are an independent team why not join the league just for soccer?
Put 'em on the bus!!!!

Most of the PCL is not even real soccer sure kalida is a very technichal team but the rest is all boot it up the field and chase it. Sure it might work on some of the easier teams around here but the pcl needs to get there kids into travel soccer. and local teams like ohio excel, west central and all those other schools are not goin to get you where you want. but if you are just lookin to play some soccer for fun than go ahead and play for local travel

Ottoville always seems to reload, but Kalida will be the team to beat in the PCL, their midfield is exceptional and only losing 2 starters, means a lot of experience coming back....In the NCOSA riverdale looks pretty solid..I see a couple dark horses though

Sounds like a lot of input from down south. Kalida may have the edge without football, BBUUTT unless their on field antics change on the field they will not go far and their "attitude' will put them away. They will be a good team. Hopefully their dives, acting, flops and drops will come to a stop this year. Of all the teams North and south, the last 3 years they have been the most unproffesional and unsportsmanlike team I have seen play.

someone must not like kalida at all because i dont know what "attitude" your talking about but kalida has some of the best sportsmanship compared to most other teams in NW ohio. And as for dives and flops you must be thinking of Ft. Jennings. They are well known for that. Kalida will be the team to beat this year after losing only 2 starters but one was the goalie so that will be important to fill but with the solid defense they have it shouldn't set them back that much. So with 9 starters coming back from a 2 loss season with both of those losses coming from ottoville who lost most of there top players this year, kalida is the one to beat in the PCL and if they can escape all the way through the district semi's they will do some damage.

thetower, what on field antics are you talking about? If you are talking about dives I will admit it, I have seen Kalida takes a couple dives, but EVERY team has players that dive. As for the unsportsmanlike conduct, you can't be serious! Coach Czubik is one of the most sportsmanlike coaches in the area and he drills that concept into his players.

There was some talk that the Kalida JV coach was hired because Czubik is thinking about retiring. Anyone have info for me?

Kalida only lost 2 starters from last year so ill take them to win pcl and make a deep tourney run

Hey, I know u and you know me, and we both know that kalida's team will be good this year with a lot of experience up front but, there wont be that solid defense for the new keeper, bockrath i assume, the senior keeper graduated and Kleman will be moved up and they will have one or two good backs in schnipke but the outside backs is where they need to find replacements to step up and take roles. but time will tell...
oh and czubick is one of the greatest coaches in the area....even if he chosses to retire, which i dont think will be this year just yet, but when he does, he will go down as one of NW Ohio's Coaches

Cannot see where the info on kalida comes from. Always quality kids (agree, they play hard, but I've NEVER seen any garbage from those boys. And there is a BIG difference bewteen hard & dirty, guys) and I will always put forward that Coach Czubik is top-notch.
