I would assume kottenbrock would get it to, but Bogart from grove and riley from paulding might steal a few votes from him. Last i seen riley and bogart were hitting around 400 or higher, and both have good pitching records. Riley is 3-1 in conference with a sub 1 era, and bogart was about the same until the Lcc game.

Bogart had a really tough game against LCC. Just an off night at the wrong time i guess. Curveball did nothing that night and the velcocity was off the fast ball. but hey we all have those nights. Last i saw he was battin around 440 and 3 HRs. LCC is a good team, but i think Crestview can beat them on Thursday atleast im hoping for CG's sake. I think if LCC loses grove still has a chance to get a share, but with Crestview on friday and Paulding next week that will be tough. Good luck on finishing out the NWC to all teams. GO Crestview on Thursady against LCC.

Well before the season there was a lot of chatter on here about Vermillion, Dysert, and Yetman as NWC POY. When Kottenbrock faced them he struck each of them out twice. He also has 2 (or 3?) HRs on the year.

Agree - you can put Kottenbrock down for POY - he's been impressive to say the least. However, its too bad you only play NWC every 3-4 days, where you only have to need 1 pitcher to get by. Let me be the first to say - Grove, Paulding, and Jefferson all have better lineups, better defenses, more depth and would beat LCC in a series of games.

What has happened to Ada this year?

I think there is a lot under the surface. I like the head coach, but I don't think his heart is in it. I ride my bike often through the Ada Park. I haven't seen much instruction at practices, just BP. (But then again, I am not with the team nor do I hear what is being said inside the dugout.) There just doesn't seem to be any fire in the kids. I would have thought there would be more wins.

POY's don't come from teams that haven't won a league game, which is unfortunately the case for Ada. Kottenbrock should win the award because he's been the most dominate player/pitcher in the league this year.

Boomerpete, you ever ride with Flipboing? He's the only other guy I knew who rode around town on a bike other than Ronnie Keller.

Still trying to figure out how you can tell if a coach's heart is in it by riding by practice on your bike or by what they do in practice while you're riding your bike. That's a pretty strong statement and not really fair to the coach unless he's talked to you personally and told you his heart wasn't in it. I'm guessing he hasn't.

Goodluck to the Ada in the tournament - anything can happen when a team gets hot. Here's hoping the Bulldogs do.

Looks like a big showdown in paulding on monday. Grove @ Paulding makeup, more then likely for second place in the conference, unless crestview pulls on out against LCC. Does anyone know when the LCC and crestview make up there game.

These are probably the 2 best overall teams in the NWC. With tournament games looming, you may not see the pitchers of choice, but you will still see quality in depth that other NWC teams don't have.

i'm not really sure what you base this off of? because you don't like LCC?

LCC played terribly against Jefferson and still snuck out a win, played bad against Grove and won by 5, and the paulding game was a good game with two very good pitchers throwing against each other.

Paulding and LCC are on a different level in terms of baseball talent than the rest of the NWC right now.

glory,

i think what should have been said is that grove, delphos and paulding have much deeper pitching staffs and play better defense than LCC. Kottenbrock hides many of the problems the T-birds have as a complete team. The good news is that you don't need more than one pitcher in the conference. Enjoy your conference title and thank the Perry little league for all the work they put in with your one man.

Bob,
keep in mind lcc was on a baseball field one time (for 1 and a half innings) before their first game.. the defense is much improved since the beginning of the season. Travis has been with the T-Birds since he was in 4th grade.. so I don't think any thank yous to perry would be necessary. Maybe to his dad who taught all these boys to play the game when they were younger. Thanks Mr. Kottenbrock!!!

BOB,
Don't be so sure about LCC heading to ACME ball so quickly....Kottenbrock is a competitor and will throw his best game of the year Friday night against Coldwater. If LCC can score five runs they win....Kottenbrock won't give up more than that IMHO.

if you guys would just build your own baseball field we would not have to listen to the excuses that come from not having one. You would think with all of the arrogance you could come up with the money to do so. I have seen you play on a number of occassions and your average at best without kottenbrock on the mound. Good luck against coldwater, chances are ACME baseball is just around the corner.

Let's see just how well your team would do not having a field to practice on for 5+ years. Not an excuse...just reality.
I'm sure they'd happily take your monetary donation to accomplish that very feat. However, much to your dismay, the grass (or weeds) is growing on the new diamond, the outfield fence is up and the T-Birds will soon have a new diamond to call home.

Anyone have results from today's games?

Crestview over LCC. Without Kottenbrock (pitched Sat.) LCC is a middle of the pack NWC team at best. I heard the Paulding / Grove make-up was rained out again and is to be made up tonight. If it's on, I'm going. Winner gets their rightful piece of the pie! Should be good weather. My question - if you are Paulding who do you throw? I believe their sectional championship game is scheduled for tomorrow! Grove doesn't play their sectional final until Saturday. Who makes the sectional dates up anyway? Shouldn't these all be on the same timetable? I think Paulding has to make up another NWC game with Bluffton also. Does anyone have a day on that one?

clutch, Who did LCC throw with Kottenbrock in the OF?.....im guessing Snider but who knows. I saw him throw the last 2-3 innings of a game a little earlier in the year and wasn't to impressed. If that's LCC's #2 then they are in a world of hurt after Kottenbrock leaves the hill.

Let me make everything clear on this.... Kottenbrock moved in 5th grade and an average team? BOB what are you talking about? Kottenbrock hasnt been striking to many out lately and as a matter of fact he only struck out 6 on saturday and still beat BATH... Snider threw 5 strong innings and came out when they were up 3-2 in the sixth and sims gave up the bomb to lose the game. So Snider is throwing well of late and we shall see how LCC is on friday since they are in the toughest sectional in the state. I'm going with LCC 4-2

Congrats to the Panthers on a big W on Tuesday. You have a fun team to watch. No superstars - just solid players throughout getting it done as a TEAM.

Best wishes to all NWC teams - there should be plenty of tourney action the rest of this week. How many sectionals can the NWC win? Still alive: Crestview, Jefferson, Paulding, LCC, Ada, Columbus Grove. I believe Allen East has already won theirs.

Ada bows out tonight. Jefferson and Paulding claim sectional championships. What's with the Panther comebacks this week? 6 in the 6th to beat Grove in a NWC game to get after a piece of the title ... then 7 in the 7th to come back to win their sectional tonight? Paulding gets the "clutch" award this week! LCC and Crestview look to advance tomorrow, then Columbus Grove Sat..
