As a matter of fact PH is remodeling and adding on to Parrat Field. They are redoing the inside of the concession stand and they are also building an arch leading in to the field. In a few years what do you think this field needs to add or should add?

I heard that the field is built off of all donations by the community and buisinesses...is that correct???

Mr. Baseball,

You have to be kidding. Of all the diamonds in the Lima area, Bath has got to have the worst around. Stands are unsafe, pitching mound has deep holes in it, and the diamond is hard as a rock when it gets hot because they don't put any water on it. I know they have budget problems, but players' safety is at stake if they continue to not maintain their diamond properly.

In the summer it can be hard and during tournaments yes the mound can get torn up, but if you are putting them in the same league as Elida you're nuts. In my opinion their infield is firm and that is the way an infield should be. As far as Shawnee the dirt is more like quick-sand. Yes their field looks "prettier" than any other in this area but as far as a player's aspect, they are just average. I am a coach and a former player and as far as the fields that I have played on, Bath's should be considered in the top 5.(I guess it's been a while since I've played and not just hit infield hahaha) I haven't seen PH's field but Coldwater's should be on the top of that list. You have great input and i respect your opinion...

I think they need to add better seating, something like Kalida has.

Im a pretty good inside sorce when it comes to PH's field i heard they are adding lights, new bleachers with box seats which will be sitting on top of a clubhouse, and they have a great team this year with alot of young players that will play in the next couple years

Some of the Best
PH - field is avg. but tons of extra's.....
OG - tons of foul territory...almost too much....alot like a pro field.
Miller City - perfect playing conditons.. very nice grass infield..... underground irrigation....

Havent been there in a long time, but Ill never forget how nice Coldwater is...prolly my favorite...

Some of the worst
Continental
Bath
Columbus Grove

----------------------------
After reading this post, Ive come to the conclusion that most the posters here are not players.....

Continental - HUGE cracks everywhere, and the dirt is like big sand box.....

Grove - pitchers mound was weak like 2 years ago.. So bad, they considered hosting the tourny elsewhere..

Bath - Cant see 2nd base because the infield has a lip that is like 4 inches high...sounds crazy i know...
Once saw a ground ball bounce 15 feet into the air over the short top....(it was a funny site)

I was waiting for someone to mention Miller City. I don't really understand how the infield turned to crap? Does it just need rolled or what? If you haven't seen it yet, it looks awesome now becuase the workers spent time to put brick dust on it again and the softball infield. The dirt is nice and red now and the field looked perfect last year when the grass was green. cool.gif

i find it hard to believe that continental's field can be anything to brag about....
i could be wrong...
i havent seen it in a few years....
but when i did play on it, it was a toss up between them and bath for worst field.....

continental did have nice dug outs that were just huge...............like twice as big as they needed to be....

actually...im from continental......but do have ties to mc.

Continental field was redone the right way by the same guy that did Miller City's field. Can't remember his name but he is from Kalida. The sand pit has been gone for a several years now. I will agree with you guys that said Continental's field was crap. But now it is one of the best around.

Wally...weezy.....

Actually....the DSJ facility is attached to the city's sewage disposal system....hence the terrible oder one must endure to view a game......it is no wonder the attendance is so low at Blue Jay games!!!!!!!!! laugh.gif

here's my top 3...

3.) Houston - well kept, nice infield...pretty unique outfield
2.)Indian Lake - dare i say "en fuego"
1.)Greeneville -beautiful diamond. Last i saw it was till under construction. With its 9-10 foot padded out field walls and the nicest infield, pitchers mound, homeplate ive ever seen. Dug outs and bull pens are excellent too. If your a true baseball fan you gotta see this diamond
Build it, and they will come...

Fort Loramie's baseball facility is top notch as well. Perfect setting being right in town with beautifal homes just beyond the fence in right field (windows!), and the field is maintained very well also.
