Flashback to last year's battle in Columbus and the talkative Mike Hart addressing press row : " I guarantee if we play them again it would be a whole different game," "We should have got them the first time around. We didn't. So if it doesn't happen, that's our fault. But if we played them again, it would be a whole different game. Guarantee that. " End quote.
I guess you could say it was whole different game one year later. . . .It's a home game, it's the seniors who returned for a final year to go for a national crown, beat Ohio State for the first time in their lives, send their coach out on a winning note and what do they come up with ?
They come up with 3 points, and a total of 91 yards of total offense. . .they entered the game averaging 399.2 yards of offense! After OSU scores to take the lead at 7-3 the Wolverines ran 44 more plays the rest of the day and came up with 43 yards of offense for their efforts from that point on. For the game, they needed 61 plays to come up with the 91 yds or about 1.5 yds per play.
For a better perspective, go back 45 years to 1962 for the last time Michigan was under 100 yards in a game, not just against the Buckeyes, that's against everyone in the last 4 and a half decades. Want more facts for the barbershop debates. . .The Wolverines were in Buckeye territory one time in the entire second half had 8 possessions in the second half and ended up with 6 three and outs and 14 total yards, yes 14 yards, of offense the entire second half !
Too bad that chatterbox Mike Hart didn't stick around again this year to offer up another guarantee, but before he gets too far down in the dumps all he needs to do is read some of the accounts of the game with the maize & blue spin and I'm sure he will also believe Michigan escaped with a victory. I've heard every excuse except for global warming as being the reason OSU eked out a win.
So to all you Michigan fans, congratulations on your moral victory and next year I am hoping Ohio State will somehow discover a way to avoid the Wolverine jinx for a 5th consecutive season, Gosh, if Tressel could just find a way to beat you guys ! Keep on spinning the spin and no doubt the final score will become even closer with each passing month and just remember it could always be worse. . . . .you could be a Notre Dame fan .

JB,
You the man buddy, you the man. Talk about a post that shuts up all doubters. After reading your realistic post I`ve come to the conclusion that there`s really very little left to be said about this game. Actually, there`s nothing that should be said. Pure perfection my friend. Heck, you should be a sportswriter for the Lima News .... Check that, USA Today would be a better fit. Talk about NAILING IT. .........WOW

I'm a bit surprised that you wonder " what the hell I'm talking about ". . . .after all, the day after the game, you were quick to offer this observation to another poster. . ." I was at the game and am privy to exactly what was going on ".
Well for someone who is "privy to exactly what is going on " I thought you would know what I'm talking about ?? I simply posted some game stats, sorry if I confused you with the numbers. No spin, just game stats.
It was interesting to read your closing comment that " We got hammered". Do you mean to tell me that not only were you at the game and privy to exactly what was going on, that you also played in the game ?

You say you have been waiting 4 days for a reply . . .. let it go man, Michigan lost , deal with it.
Four days isn't really that long. Hell, I've been waiting on a response from you since 6/11/07, over 5 months ago, when I challenged your topic on this very Forum "Other Sports". . .. . of course there was no comment from you. Go back and check out the thread you started on Andrew Brackman being drafted by the Yankees. . .. .using your typical anti-Ohio State "spin" you listed in the header, Brackman as the 2004 Mr Basketball, ignoring the fact that Jamar Butler of OSU was "THE" Mr Basketball in Ohio in 2004. . . .conveniently distorting the obvious, I suppose.
Now maybe Brackman was voted Mr Basketball somewhere in Hamilton County, but certainly not the winner of the commonly accepted Mr Basketball for the state of Ohio. Please convince me that Jamar Butler wasn't the 2004 Mr Basketball so that I can validate your post. Spin away, doctor !
I'm actually pretty busy tonite getting ready for the first installment of this season's JB & Rocketman's Boys HS Basketball Poll which is to be released later this evening. . . . .so I don't intend to play Internet Librarian for you, pal. . .sorry about your luck.
However, if you still haven't found a website listing excuses from Wolverine fans on how OSU managed to escape with a win over Michigan maybe you should check these sites:
www.highanklesprain.com or www.theywereholdingeveryplay.gov
Your boy, Mr Chatterbox, was indeed hampered by a high ankle sprain obviously, but I just read today that Beanie Wells, in addition to his ankle injury played the entire game with a broken hand. . . .I'm sure you will find a way to spin that to convince me that gave Beanie an unfair advantage in the game since Hart had to play without an injured hand.
So far I haven't been "capped" in Lima yet, but I might offer you a safety tip on your next visit to the 'hood, be careful where you park your manure spreader. . . .those big 'ole wheels would look pretty sharp on one of our Cadillacs, now get back to tending your sheep .

I get the feeling you and Jerin are one in the same. He's spent the last 3 years of his life futily attempting to defend his big (smaller) brother over there at Bucknuts.
I have yet to see anyone defending the Wolverines, Chad Henne or the aformentioned Mike Hart on any forums. I really don't know for sure what there would have been to defend? I can't think of anything that went well for Michigan that day other than Zoltan Mesko. Ooh and I had a good batch of Calamari after the game.
Do you want me to defend something? Tell you what, Ohio State and Jim Tressel could have beat Michigan by 30 in good field conditions and with a healthy Chris Wells. I know how you Bucks love to really pound UM! I guess if we break it down and count the obvious 7 OSU could have got at the end of the game and sprinkle in, just to be safe, 10 other points, that would make the final score:
31-3 Bucks
Let's just go with that, cool?
I feel that is VERY accomodating and should be noted.
You stay away from my sheep, pervert.
