Wanted to clear up my last post in that the Locos will only be at Simmons Field for this coming summer according to the person in charge of Shawnee Field. So we will be staying put with our Kalida and Temple fields for this summer.

I also wanted to post that on our website I have made a new announcement in that Monday I will be receiving 40 t-shirts that will go on sale. Cost of these shirts are $12 for adults and $10 for youth sizes. These shirts will go quick I imagine so contact me as soon as possible if interested. The best way to contact me is by phone at 567-204-1883. As soon as I get the shirts I will be posting them on our website for everyone to view. Sizes are the following:

Youth Sizes: Small (6-8)
Medium (10-12)
Large (14-16) I will have 5 shirts for each youth size

Adult Sizes: Small 7 shirts
Medium 3 shirts
Large 10 shirts
X-Large 5 shirts
If these shirts sell quickly, I will be ordering more as soon as I can. They are pre-shrunk shirts with our team name and logo in our colors.

The summer of 2008 welcomes a new semi-professional baseball team in Lima. The Lima Buckeyes will start off their summer on June 1st with a double header at Bath High School against Troy Legion. On June 5th, the first ever battle of Lima will take place at Shawnee High School as the Buckeyes and Locos will face off. We are an all wooden bat team with our league being the Midwest Prospect League in Ft. Wayne. Our roster includes:

We are only 67 days away from the first ever game for the Lima Buckeyes at Smiley Park in Van Wert. We have our schedule completed on our website with some games having TBA as the start time. Once I receieve word about what times those games will be, they will be updated.

Our team has everything ready to go with exception of a few things. Anyone interested in donating or sponsoring the Lima Buckeyes, we would greatly appreciate it. We still have to have a couple more sponsors in order for us to be able to start. Feel free to contact me and let me know if anyone you know might be interested in helping us out. And also, don't forget about the chicken barbecue coming up here in a matter of weeks.

With the crappy weather we've been having, we have been unable to get a practice in. So we will try again this Tuesday and Friday with our first games being a week away tomorrow. If you are able to make it out, please do. We would love to see you at Kalida High School for the start of the Lima Buckeyes.
