This was probably the worst game I have seen Kalida play all year. Now I didn't get to see the first goals for either team, but from what I can say from the rest of the game is that Kalida could not have played any worse than they did. I give all the credit in the world to Ottoville, they played a good game and beat a talented Kalida team, and also congrats to Kalida, Ottoville, and MC on their 2007 PCL title. As for Kalida, WOW I didn't expect that play. Marking on defense wasn't good, poor clearing on the defensive end, which lead to Ottoville's second goal, no one was not going to the ball, and last that I could see is that Kalida seemed to predictable.

I've been told that it was a matter of time before Kalida was figured out by someone.

I don't think that it was the fact that Ottoville had figured Kalida out but more of the fact that they didn't know what to do as far as playing from behind that deep into a game. With about 15 min left in the game, Kalida just did the same thing over and over again, which was get the ball into the midfielder and then go long down the right side. If we would have just switched the field one time in the second half, we might have been able to score, but it would have been difficult since Ottoville played the majority of the second half with two sweepers, three fullback, and a defensive mid.

yeah,i wouldnt complain K-Town that they put all those defenders back, because kalida packs 10 people into to the defense all the time, even when the game is tied.

First off, I wasn't complaining about how Ottoville packed it in, because honestly the better team won last night and I have already said that in a previous post. I was just making the point that it would have been difficult for our offense to score when we were at a numbers disadvantage. Secondly, can you provide an example of when Kalida has packed in 10 players on defense this year? The last time I can recall having more than five people on defense was in 2002 against Mansfield Christian when the Regional title was on the line, so the circumstances were totally different.

k-town alumni ottoville still has to play ft. jennings tuesday night so they haven't exactly clinched their share of the title. great game from both teams though. typical klida-ottoville game: rough and physical

I really didn't think that the game was as rough as other years....i mean i seen some shirt pulling and couple fouls here and there, but what i was really suprised at the most was the fact that there were no cards given in that game...I can't actually remember the last time either one of them did not get a card in any of the previous meetings...

Overall, before the game started...it was gonna come down to Kalida's defense versus Ottoville's offense and sooner or later in that game something had to give...Ottoville's offense came through and put Kalida in a situation where they have never been and that is from behind...In all honesty I didnt really think neither team played their best game..I have seen Ottoville play before and I didn't think they played their best game...I think the phrase, played good enough to win comes to mind...

Kalida in fact does have a good defense and an explosive keeper...but the offense definantly lacks on their shooting percentage.. Kalida made some good runs but just doesnt have the explosive offense as ottoville. It definantly was a good game overall to see, especially towards the end when the freshman from ottoville seeled the deal with a goal toward the end of the game with 50 seconds left to go...

Good game for both teams, good atmosphere and a good turn out for a Friday Night Soccer game

I agree Boogeyman- i've seen both teams play better than what they did against each other. You;re definately right about the atmosphere, it was very intense. Overall, it was a fun game to watch and both teams played hard, but Ottoville just came out on top.

boogeyman are you forgetting that kalidas defense gave up three goals in the losing effort if theyre defense is so good shouldnt one goal have been enough?

Kalida is a very god team however, and I dont think that this one loss will be enough to hault their season....

boogyman, the freshman that scored that goal is originally from klida, kindda adding insult to injury on klida's part

NWOhiosportsfan.....you are exactly correct they did give up 3 goals...but earlier in my post that you read i mentioned that the game would be decided by Kalida's defense and Ottoville's offense...one of these had to give and Ottoville's tough offense won that battle, so Kalida does have a good defense but couldnt hold off Ottovilles offense..

Buckeyes for life...you are right as well...thats why i think that the last goal from ottoville with 50 seconds left to go was the most important of the game because it not only sealed the deal but it was by a freshman who was originally from Kalida so good point
