Merrick: learn how to type
And now to my real thoughts on the game:
The varsity team on the field Tuesday night was mostly non-starters and JV players. I ended up playing Sweeper for all 80 minutes, which are two new things for me. I have never played a full game and never played Sweeper on the varsity team my entire life. The "varsity" team did hold Bluffton away from the net for a while, but as we got tired, Bluffton took advantage of our lack of speed and played through ball after through ball after through ball. VB didn't ever step to a 50-50 ball and this ultimately ended up costing us the game. Bluffton scored a goal off of a corner kick that was headed in by #10. He was my mark and I'm sorry, but I lost him in a scramble that they ran. Morale dropped early in the second half and we never rebounded.
The JV held Bluffton to a 0-0 tie, but we only played a 36 minute game due to darkness. In all honesty, JV sucked balls out there Tues. Yes, I played both all of varsity and all of JV, and I'll tell you now, JV has a lot of work to do. Bluffton tied us only because every shot they took went straight to Brandon Cooley, our goalie. JV also never stepped to balls and made many of the same mistakes varsity did. Flicking the ball off of a free kick needs to stop; it never works for this team! Cooley did an awesome job in goal, only he didn't kick it as far as he would have liked. It's understandable, though... It was late and most of us (including Brandon and myself) had already played most of the varsity game prior to the JV game). JV never generated any offense and Bluffton was constantly in the face of the Defensive Line. Both games were an embarrassment to the Van Buren dynasty, since both the JV and Varsity from Bluffton were not too good for us to shut down.
I don't want to hear anyone, especially unimportantsoccerkid, to brag about how good the JV is and how horrible the Varsity is; that JV is doing everything they're supposed to and the Varsity is doing nothing! And BTW, unimportantsoccerkid, by your name I'm assuming that you have no idea what the hell you're talking about. So find out what you're talking about or shut your mouth.
That's my speech, sorry it was so long. I'm just a little fired up about this whole thing.

Are you telling me that kyle spangler is the Dynasty of Van Buren? What about guys like Matt Brown,Alex Kaughman,Drew hartman,Dustin Wagner,Lucas Hassink. I love Van Buren soccer and ive been following for about 9 years now. You guys have never had any better fullbacks than Brown and Kaughman. those guys will be hard to replace for years to come. Same with wagner hartman and hassink. Dont get me wrong kyle is an acceptionall good player. But to say it Died with him? Explain to me please just curious
