Uh...Yeah...sure does. Champion gets automatic bid. If a bowl wants another team from a conferance, they can choose that team if they are ranked in the top 14 of the BCS, I believe is the number. Maybe 15. Notre Dame does get the undeserved automatic bid if they are top 8, and I believe a non-BCS gets an automatic bid if top 12 now (instead of top 6 or whatever it was) or top 16 if they are ranked above any team receiving an automatic bid from their conference, but only one team from a non-BCS can get in. Any team in the top 4 of the BCS without an automatic bid also gets a bid. However, no conference can get more than 2 teams in.
Arkansas won their side of the SEC last year and then lost in the SEC title game, but didn't get a BCS bid. LSU was already going to get a BCS bid from the SEC before the SEC Title game was played and was ticketed for the Rose Bowl until Florida made the jump up to #2 in the BCS. Had Florida lost the SEC championship, LSU would have still gotten the bid because that is who the Rose Bowl wanted since they figured to lose Michigan or USC to the title game. In the end, LSU ended up 4th and got an automatic bid, as did Michigan who finished 3rd. Thus, that left one more position to fill. Notre Dame was selected because they would bring in the most revenue, but it wasn't automatic because they weren't in the top 8. Wisconsin was the highest ranked in the BCS not to get in at #7, but couldn't have a 3rd team in the BCS from the Big Ten after the Ohio State and Michigan automatic bids.
Ok, I think I explained enough of the intricacies of the system to bore you all for one night.

Yeah, I'll agree with that, Notre Dame is a joke... and even more so in the Bowl Games, I'll keep watching though, there is no sport purer than college football.

Youngstown(pfff high school team practically)
Akron (man thats a tough team lol)
Washington (Willingham wat a loser)
Northwestern (below average)
Minnesota (Loss)
Purdue (half way decent)
Kent State (lol another tough team)
Michigan State (little better)
Penn State (now heres a loss)
Wisconsin (another)
Illinois (blows)
Michigan (APP. STATE lol)
Notre Dame will never get the athletes like Ohio State and Michigan and other big teams cause are standards are too high.People that go to OSU and UM are prolly athletes that would not make it to Notre Dame. Ohh and i read a interesting article about Dwayne Jarrett .. DYK that he was planning on going to Notre Dame ,but ND practically told him that he was to stupid to go there.(that he wouldnt make the grades) If you would just imagine what it would of been like with him. Offense would of been unstoppable. Brady Quinn,Jeff S. , Rhema Mcknight,Dwayne Jarret, Maurice Stovall,D-Walk wow lol

You know what i fine funny, ND still believes they are a national power... Give it up, you guys wont be back to your glory days for a good while... And About players, i think thats funny that you say ND standerds are higher than everyone elses.... So is that what you are going to blame another losing season on..lol
ND should grow some balls and actually join a conference and stop piggy-backing on the Big East, which is a tough conference.. way tougher than the big ten...lol hope navy and duke dont scare you guys this year...
