obviasly Guisinger is the clear favorite with some outside shots but andrew utrup is the next fav with great last year and worked his tail off in the off-season. He had some help from Whitty (not sure of his first name) one of the greatest catchers we have ever seen.

Guisinger hands down the best player no questions asked

Agreed. If he plays in every game, he wins the award!! He is just that much better than everyone else!

Let's be realistic here. How can you name off all of these different Continental players and the team is still not any good?

Coach N, according to half of the rocketcorner Continental has talent and is on the rise in baseball. Even though they won something like 2 or 3 games last year and haven't won a game yet this year.

All of these names?? There are 2 on here, Nik Louiselle and Ben Miller. I am confused by your comment. It is not like people have named 5-7 people, just 2. Miller was batting just over .500 after 4 games last I knew.

we are in the process of building a baseball prgram that went to hell....what because we dont win 15 games, we dont have any players worth while??? Ben Miller is a player and has a great chance of being first team material....but of coarse all the damn politics involved, Continental dont ever get recognization....that only hurts are players that need to be recognized....I have over the lat 5-6 years seen some great players at Continental, but we havent had a coach that has wanted to put time and effort in like this one we have now, we are finally starting to get a few more people each year interested in the baseball program and thats where it starts.....

Maybe Miller should of open-enrolled or transferred to Kalida for the baseball season. Then he could be on a team that does win consistantly. If he put up the same numbers, would he then be considered one of the better players in the PCL ? He did make first team last year when they only won five games. Or we could have Guisinger playing in Continental, he still hits great and has an ERA of .90. But his team only wins 3 of the games he starts and ends up with a record of 3 - 6. Is it the kids fault he plays on a team that isn't any good. So since the won - loss record is terrible, does that mean the kid isn't deserving of the awards because half his team can't field a grounder or catch a fly ball ? Also the hitting average will be down a little bit because we know we don't have to pitch to him because we know the other kids probably can't hit that well either. CAN YOU FEEL THE PAIN OF PIRATE BASEBALL ? I CAN. The day of choosing a sport should come to an end. Playing basketball for 12 months of the year needs to end. A kid should be able to play three differant sports a year and not be pressured by his coach to only play one. I could go on and on and on about this, but maybe some other day I will.

pcl gussinger will be good and so will jennings if they all stay together that is what i am worried bout the thing bout continental is they are way to young this will be a rebulding year for them and leipsic those two teams willl struggle pandora will have to start right away if they want to try to pul away from the rest of the teams grove will prolly win the NWC so that will be there main concern wit that but the team that in my mind will win the always tough fighting p.c.l will prolly be .............

Ottoville will have a hell of a team this year gasser on the mound will always throw good, basinger will always be a contributer brandon miller will come around to be an outstanding out fielder!! Looser and rue will help out making great plays but the most out standing thing on this ottoville roster will have to be the sophmore class there is a lot of tallent there i think if they all stick it out they will be pretty good... i have been able to watch a few of their games so far this year they play 4 sophmores in the feild andrew koch and david wurst come back for a pretty impressive campaign last year and the two that i personally am pretty shocked about would have to be the matt niemeyer boy who plays a hell of a left field short stop and pitches exceptionally well with a nasty curve to what i have seen so far. The last and final sophmore that the big green play is the catcher alex odenweller so far this year to what i have heard he has thrown out 6 rinners already that is pretty impressive not to mention they have only played 4 games thus far ! he and the rest of the big green should be pretty good but look out for the last two that i mentioned they will be the spark to that team with help form the seniors!!!

they might win but it will be a close record wit them highly favored kalida and up there ranked jennings!?!

Coach-a losing record does not always make for bad players. Great players can still be on a losing team!!
Everybody has to do their part. Maybe it is the coaching??
A team has to be good together!!

In my opinion, great players make a team win. If they cannot make their team win, then they may be good, but not great.

That Barry Bonds, couldn't win it all, the bum.

Ken Griffey Jr., all century team, yada, yada, yada. Never won it all and therefore, not great.

Ernie Banks...that guy stunk!

Charles Barkley...couldn't play.

Shall I go on?

I loved Al Kaline...still think he was great. Are you telling me, however, that he was greater than Junior because the Tigers won it all? Do you remember how good Griffey truly was in the 90s, without steroids?

I do not think that references to MLB players applies here. In MLB, everyone is great, that is why they are there. It is much easier in high school for a few players to carry a team to a few victories at least. I never mentioned they had to win a championship, just win some freaking games consistently.
