Joe, you are right about the amount of time Coach is spending down at the diamond, but...my only concern ( I know, I am beating a dead horse ), is the discipline thing. Besides the points I have already mentioned, last season we had a senior member on the team who MISSED ( I call it blowin' the team off) a game to work BACKSTAGE CREW on the school play - but the very next night he blew off the backstage crew to play in a meaningless exibition basketball game. Now, if I am trying to build the program I am gonna be smokin' hot about that! This kid did not serve any suspesnsion for "dissing" his TEAM for backstage crew or to play basketball.
Additionally, not playing your starters so a senior can "earn" his Letter (seniors automatically receive letters) is not how I define trying to build the program. This particular senior NEVER gave the baseball program a minute of his time during the summer, yet the starters who had to sit so he could "earn" his Letter suffered. I might add that that the starters who had to sit, gave every summer to the program from "minor league" all the way up to ACME.
Finally, who is trying to dictate what Coach is doing? I know I have never offered any insight or opinion because it is not my job to do so.
Now, in the words of Forrest Gump: "That's all I gotta say about that"...
Peace

OK. Doctor, Lets set the record straight about your blatant lies.
1. The student did not schedule the play (the play, not play practice) and baseball game for the same night. A committment was made to both programs, he had to make a choice. Sorry it didn't fit into your way of thinking.
2. The player DID serve a game suspension though. Lie 1.
3. The meaningless basketball game was the PCL Allstar game. You failed to mention what it was. Senior year, nice honor, would you pass it up? would your son?
4. Never gave the baseball program a minute during the summer? He played ACME. Lie 2 Ya better plan on going to confession.
5. Your childish immature "dissing" of a kid because yours didn't play enough has now been exposed.
6. If your not man enough to issue a personal apology to this kid, at least post one online from the safety of your computer.
