Stud.......

I am going to let this go for now......I have really enjoyed talking to you about O'town basketball and I do understand your passion for your team......and to be honest with you, I hope they find the right coach and do succeed, but you must admit the odds are not in the next coach's favor......I don't know what Todd did, but by everything you stated, the things he did were pretty common place in my era.....and you know what....I survived.....and so did our program......I guess maybe Ottoville needs to find a coach that fits the players mentality......just think about that for a minute.....find a coach to fit the players mentality......good luck with that.....

Stud.....I wish your program success....I always pull hard for local schools when it comes to sports....I hope Ottoville finds the right coach and they don't have to go down this often traveled road again.....enjoy next season!!!!!

From what I can tell just reading all this it seems it's not the coaches, players,or the concerned parents fault that Ottoville is the graveyard of coaches. It looks like the administration in general is to blame. They need to step up to the plate and deal with the problem. From what I see they just don't like to deal with controversy so instead of getting involved they follow the negativity of fans like bbstud!!!
Maybe getting a new administration and stronger school board members would help stop this downward spiral.
I actually heard the kid who threw the so called fit at halftime and used very vulgar language had no consequences thru the school. That right there tells you they are not in charge of this school. Good luck ottoville but from the outside looking in until you revamp your administration the next coach will probably end his career at ottoville the same way and bbstud will be calling him names on this thread in a few months too.

Easy now BBstud, lets remain calm, flounder is a great guy. Is the young man who teaches at Ottoville, but coaches at FJ the new coach? I think he played at Grove several years ago. I have not heard from anyone from Otown give any names yet. Good luck who ever it is. Not an easy place to coach at, but there always is hope. Happy Easter everyone, I will pray for all involved tomorrow at Mass.

FJ coach Keith Utendorf played ball at OG (class of 2005). He previously was on the staff at VW with Dave Froelich and, before that, helped Scott Maag at Leipsic.

To add to this the superintendent at Ottoville once coached at Leipsic and the hs principal once coached at OG....

I heard that the school was going to come down on him so he quit right before this happened. He didn't want to take his punishment at practice and sit and watch from the bench for the rest of the season.

I heard a little side note this weekend that may bring some understanding about the behavior of the kid. I didn't witness this but it came from a life-long Big Green fan. The kids mom created a situation at a Continental/Otttoville softball game a few years back after her daughter, a pitcher, got run-ruled. Mom couldn't handle that her daughter got rocked so she verbally abused and went after an official. Luckily she was stopped by our administrator before anyone was physically assaulted.

And we wonder why kids act the way they do.

For every one coach that has harmed a kid's career there are 100 parents that have destroyed their own kid's career. Trust me. Seen it, dealt with it!!!

Has anyone been able to confirm any of the rumblings regarding a new hire for the Ottoville position?

My contacts in Green country have heard nothing. I would imagine since summer is coming up quick something will happen soon. I personally hope that one of the BOE members takes it. They got rid of the old coach so let's see how well they can do.

Pick the one who personally called many parents looking for negative comments and reason to not renew his coaching contract.

Scott is the superintendent. However they have someone sitting on the girls side who has extensive boys experience. His daughter will be graduating so this would be a perfect time to make the switch.
