Kortokrax has become Joe Paterno.

Look at the similarities between the 2
-Both were great coaches
-Neither one knew when to retire
-both had sons who enabled them to stay on
-both became the all time wins leaders as a result of not leaving
-both coached at schools with delusional fan bases
-both had assistant coaches who were ruined due to ###### crimes
-both wore khakis to every game at the end of their careers.

The Ass't coach, coached VB, nothing to do with Dick or BB. Hell, a few years ago people wanted this guy to replace Dick. How about them apples.
What about now, where are those people? Get your facts straight. Great research, John.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Spot on John!

I love apples and also correct facts. Stober was the varsity volleyball coach and the boys varsity assistant basketball coach at Kalida. Go to your local library get out the microfiche from the Putnam county sentinal and you will have the facts. Or try google like the rest of us.

I do not really care. Let's drop the subject and not bring any bad memories for Kalida fans,
especially the girls Thank you. I don't microfiche.

Spring is in the air, and the In-bred Kalida fans are making their annual appeal to replace the living legend. I understand they even recruited someone with a personal agenda to round out the board in January. Lots of people are watching the development of this situation VERY closely. Seems like the oath to represent the school district, aside from personal agendas will be tested in May.

Yeah that OG/Carryout crowd backing ole Jeremy has run and taken cover, or have they?

I just think that the Kalida faithful just ought to let Dick Kortokrax coach until he decides to retire. Heck just look around the various school that cannot keep a coach for a multitude of reasons. Let him coach next year to let him collect his 900 career win which by the way nobody will ever achieve in anybodies life who reads this website or follows basketball in general. I know Kortokrax has been around a long time. If he coaches through next basketball season he will have coached through 12 different presidents in this country. That in and of itself in this day in age is just friggin unbelievable. Those 12 are Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama and who ever takes over on January 20 2017. SMH

Dakota,

Well if the election would be before they made a decision on Coach K, and Trump would be your winner, I think trump would say to Coach K, YOUR FIRED!

flounder, I went to probably 50 games this season from grades 7-12 and no matter what school you go to you just described what happens during timeouts in all 50 games.

I agree with GT. That's a millennial thing in general. It doesn't matter who's coaching. Even in a close game, half of the players are looking into the stands.

I haven't seen it when the coach is talking to the specific starting 5.....those 5 are definitely listening to the coach!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the vendetta driven Kalida board sends him packing, maybe the coaching boomerang will return the King to Jennings.

Sorry, I think the Jennings opening is on the girls side. I think Utendorf is still there.....even though the varsity boys HC job is posted (as well as every other coaching supplemental) in the Lima News

Jennings posts all of those because of their fans. When they start complaining about the coach the AD can now ask them if they put their name in for the job. I would imagine this would shut them up for 5-10 seconds and then they would be back at it. Anyone else hear that a Jennings mom was thrown out of a 5th and 6th grade tournament game? This came from a reliable source.

Another similiarity between Korto & Paterno: coaching is/was what kept them going. Take it away & Korto will be dead within 3 mos. A non-renewal is the same as signing his death certificate...and people know it. Not trying to be mean, the mans resume speaks for itself but it is time for new blood in their program. If the coaching search is done correctly, they can hire a quality replacement...ala OG going from Sweet to Leslie

I am hearing Joe Braidic may be returning to Pandora Gilboa for round 3.

I've heard the same...probably the best hire possible for PG. They do have some decent young talent. In other coaching news, word on the street is Chris Rump is done as MC's girls coach.
