I know McComb, Leipsic and VB are still playing football but how does the BVC shape up for this year? The usual suspects with LB, Arlington leading the way? McComb and VB obviously have some athletes too with their football success. Anyone good enough to make a deep tourney run this year?

Ok, BVC guys....football is over now....where is everyone at? LB looks like team to beat maybe? Have not seen McComb yet and Arlington playing ok it seems.

As competitive as the BVC was in football this year, it looks to be somewhat down in basketball. I saw Leipsic played LB tough Fri. night......the Vikings have most of their starters return from last year and could make some noise this season.

Didn't Leipsic lose this game, on their home court? I have to believe with the athletes they have that McComb will be tough roo.

LB's always solid and return a couple of good players in Masterlasco and Craft. They always play defense so look for them near the top. They and Leipsic did have good game last Friday, with the Eagles taking a close one. McComb and Van Buren just getting started this weekend and should be up there too, Arlington possibly up there. The league is still pretty down overall.

Liberty Benton looks to be the early favorite. I had heard they were going to take a step back, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

VB looking pretty good thus far too.....McComb winning too. LB and those 2 look to be top 3. Not sure where VB-LB game is at this year? That may decide the league.

Van Buren this year. Will be here around the corner, on the 8th.

So who wins the VB-LB showdown on Friday?

Is the Craft kid getting recruited anywhere? I see he is scoring 20 ppg and have heard he is 6'6 or so. I would think his name alone would open some doors and I am guessing he can play based on his stats and the season they are having.

Sounds like VB-LB game was a great game. Too bad they do not play twice in BVC as rematch at VB would have been interesting. VB is D3 now so maybe they meet in tourney. Both need to avoid LCC for as long as they can though.

veteranlefty, they may actually play again in the tournament. VB has to be kicking themselves as they had a couple of significant leads in that game, and couldn't close the deal. Probably the league title game.

I have not followed the basketball season that close, but wasn't this VB/LB game "at" VB?

Liberty Benton lost to Ottawa Hills by 17. That score is surprising.

Ottawa Hills is a really good team so them beating LB is not a shocker, maybe the margin was a bit more than expected. OH beat LB last year too I believe. VB barely beating CR is puzzling? Did VB lose a player to injury? McComb upset by Ft Jennings too. Arlington looks to be improving as the year goes on.

Ottawa Hills may be one of the best D4 teams in NW Ohio year after year. Well coached and disciplined, much like LB, they are just solid year in and out. I think what you're going to see is the league is pretty down this year overall. They'll be some good in-conference matchups, but outside the league, teams will struggle.

OH is actually D3 this year but yes a very good team year in and year out. I see VB got McComb last night at VB. VB was missing two starters to injury but it appears the injuries are not season ending. With LB already beating VB, I am not sure anyone else can beat LB. Mccomb maybe with a hot shooting night or an improving Arlington team if LB has an off night.

More than likely that salted the league title for LB. Didn't know OH was D3 now??

yep, OH will be the favorite in the Toledo D3 district.....LB and VB and Elmwood look like top 3 in their district...at least they avoid LCC until regional...not sure anyone around here in D3 beats LCC
