Donny what is your hard on for Arlington all about ? Its like your ridiculous thread about the New Riegle game ! It was a good game but there are a lot of good games. You are the only idiot who feels the need to start a thread after the fact ! If you need validation just say so !

Donny is not an idiot!!!!!!!

He is not a donut either ! I guess I take exception to you calling out the accomplishments of a bunch of high school girls ! Nobody is on here asking how your team would be without the Schreger girls the past few years. Some people might take that badly, perhaps a parent of one of the other girls on the team. I don't have a daughter on the team but my time is coming ! The Arlington team that New Riegle beat this year is really young, they have time to create their own legacy . One last thing, the Schreger (SP?) is a heck of a player .

Finally you are talking about the "girls" accomplishments.Your coach is a really good coach but he has won because of the girls and the talent he has had there and nit just because he is a really good coach. Didn't mean to down play the girls accomplishments just gets old listening to you give the coach all the credit. And your right the New Riegel teams the last 5 years would have been vastly different without Brooke and Kara but sure glad we had them. Enjoy "your time" when it gets there and I hope your daughter does as well.

My time was 25 years ago this is my kids time and I'm just along for the ride. I may make a slight steering correction every now and then or give a gentle push if they get stuck but I know what's important and what's not. And while pushing BVC buttons is fun it's not really important. Good luck to Arlington girls now and in the future . Gene

I think it starts with the coaching ! Do you think that its by chance that the same area teams are always good ? Arcadia, LB , Arlington are always pretty good . The players change the coaching stays the same. Hiland is in Columbus every year it seems , I am guessing their coaching is the biggest reason for that success . I agree the girls make the team but you can't down play the culture a good coach creates.

I also hope NR keeps winning but it won't be with my DD she has graduated and moved on to her college softball career now. My ride now stops at the boys games and jh girls games.

I thought Crestview and Leipsic might be a good game but shocked by tonights outcome . Kleiman is a good coach sometimes that is better than talent.

+1

Ottoville's record is deceiving. The Lady Big Green play OG, Arlington, Bath, Minster, St. john's and Liberty Benton on a yearly basis. That is not a good recipe for an undefeated season but will normally lead to tournament success.

On the other hand Crestview plays Antwerp, Hicksville, Continental and Parkway out of conf.as well as LCC and Wayne Trace, 2 decent to OK teams. That combined with a crappy NWC this year is a recipe for an undefeated season.

Swear I was thinking the same thing when I looked at Crestviews schedule but I just kept hearing how good they were. I had not seen them so its tough to have an informed opinion . Great season and surely nothing to be ashamed of !

Crestview went to the Classic in the Country and beat D3 Ironton by double digits.

This was no slouch of a team and was worthy of 23-0. They did beat Ottoville by 14 during the season at the beginning and beat Kalida....and had a 1000th point scorer in motycka on the team.
I give credit to Ottoville.

Crestview decided to be at their worst tonight and its over.

Good Luck to Ottoville.

Just goes to show how difficult the tournament can be, especially when you get down to the districts/ regionals. Lots of really good teams just didn't perform on the right nights and don't get to go to state.

To pile on Common Sense comments - yes, you have to be good, well coached and LUCKY to get to state final game. I still say the best HS girls team I have ever seen was the team the year BEFORE Arlington won state. That team lost in District finals to Delphos Jefferson. The following year, the team was more defense oriented and gelled well together, but still needed a poor coaching decision by Holgate and a HUGE 3 by Hunter to advance by Holgate in District semi's. Still say it is the biggest shot in history of Arlington basketball - the rest is history as they held the state championship trophy high that year.

It was the perfect storm last night for Ottoville.

Allow me to be blunt---Crestview looked horrific last night. Just uninspired. Lazy. I had a bad feeling the first quarter. We looked flat as hell. Ottoville is not great at all and most Ottoville fans will be brutally honest with you in regards to where some of their better teams have ranked as compared to this year's team. Ottoville has high standards just like Crestview does and Crestview fans will tell you straight. Ottoville played the game better last night and Crestview deserves to go home. The Knights brought their D game for whatever reason imaginable and now they are at home and their 1000th point scorer Lindsey Motycka is done.

tough to swallow as Crestview had a great shot at a final four this year.
I'm just Shaking my damn head at this mess.

Can't believe Crestview lost. Nothing at all against Ottoville as they too, have tradition. Knight fans have to be pretty disappointed in it ending this way because this was one of those years when it was "Crestview's year". Guess that's the way it goes though. This group of seniors won't be forgotten.......anytime you win 20 plus without a loss, it's memorable. Don't worry, Crestview will be back
