CR BD MINUTES: June 19th 2014 in bd minutes says he was offered one year contract......he is gonna be gone if adm wants him gone. LJ

There you have it. Imagine- someone using this internet thing to look up the board minutes.

From my understanding of teacher contracts a first year, new teacher, can be pretty much let go at the end of the year.

As LJ says- it looks like the ball is in the court of the CR admin.

There has to be a reason they can t keep a coach. Numbers has to be a big reason. They have also been bad in basketball as well. Many coaches in a short period of time there too. It is just a hard situation for a small school to address. I dont think any coach has an answer. The reason everyone is up at arms is they know how hard its going to be to get a coach.

I don't think facilities is an issue- relative to the BVC the facilities at CR are okay.

Last I heard is the Diller was an assistant coach at Bluffton College.

Schafer - left to go to Grove. With their success and tradition that was an upgrade for him.

Meyer- left to go to Napoleon as AD. Another upgrade.

Upgrade, lowgrade, whatever. Coaches coach places they feel they can be successful. LJ :coffee:

Let's not forget how many coaches they have had in basketball. What sports are they good at?

Do you think the teachers union will have something to say about this?

He wouldn't be the first teacher that was non renewed after the first year. IMO that is why they give first year teachers a one year contract... :glare:

1) have coached many things at many levels. Been asked a number of times by multiple schools to help with Varsity. But my job will not allow me the time it takes to be fully committed to a varsity assistant job. And I didn't need to be a varsity assistant for 11 years at McComb to have that understanding.

2) I am more than involved with multiple things I don't need another one, besides I don't need the divorce that would come along with adding to my to do list.

3) My Probation won't allow it! :)

Have I done something to you in the past for you to call me out?

Let's all try to remember that with the possible exception of McComb and Vanlue (to this point) all the BVC schools have had good and bad times and their own fair share of the "Coaching circus" over the years. The only difference is some of them did it before the information age that now exists. Some of this stuff could have been easily solved by some mandatory consolidation before the state spent all this money for schools. As I have stated in the past, at this point, there should only be three schools at the most in Hancock county.
1)Findlay City
2) Hancock north
3) Hancock south.
Or east and west I don't care ...

I digress....

I heard there are no contracts in place over there. To answer your question. The union would eat them alive.
