No one can sell themselves like Caz can. Get him in the interview with the board and it's done.

Not to mention his track record speaks for itself.......besides building Marion Local into the powerhouse they are today he has coaching experience at the collegiate level from his time as an assistant at BGSU.

Let's not go overboard. Kaz started the renovation project at MSML. He made the tough decisions and cleaned things up. Unfortunately, he was unable to stick around and reap the benefits of the work he did. Coach Goodwin also continued to build the program.

I understand the football coach that resigned was good enough to take on the jr. high track job since there was not anyone to do it. To me that says a little bit about his loyalty to the school. Football is just not a good situation right now. JV program is the way to go. Sad but true. This guy put his heart and soul into the football gig. They did improve ,however the hand writing is on the wall. By the way HH, I know who you are and I will not battle with you again. I feel for you. 2166 you haven't a clue.

A guilt thing? Enjoys herding cats (what coaching jr high track is)? A last ditch effort to show loyalty to hopefully avoid getting non-renewed?

Whatever...

His motivations(or lack thereof) no longer concern me. Next man up.

Uh... to me it reeks of "cover my @ss", not loyalty! Just have to wonder if some fatherly advice was sought after the possibility of non renew talk ( all unofficial of course) came to light?

Lefty.. Maybe we can split up some cold ones with John and tony some time? Let me know!

Great question. I'll go out on a limb and say the May board meeting. Although- they'll have someone in line before then and that person will 'start' prior to that. Official hire in May.

I'll even go one further........the next head coach will be named at the next BOE meeting...it is time to sheet or
get off the pot. This BOE reminds me of the PG BOE of a few years ago.....

and the winner is............
home to the "Flounder & Rocketman's" Girls HS rankings

It may not be dead, but as long as they keep soccer, they will not be competitive in the upper half of the BVC . As long as soccer is at C-R, it doesn't matter who the coach is, football will suffer. I blame the parent or group of parents that approached the C-R school board and brought the idea of starting a soccer program. That individual or group is responsible for killing a once proud and great program.

Irish Viking 87, You speak the truth. And that group has told me numerous times over the years that they fully expected to be playing their soccer games on the football field by now......It hasn't happened yet. These folks also wanted everybody that participated in a sport to get a varsity letter and get equal playing time. This has been going on for 15+ years now. This is what the traditional football crowd and all of the past football coaches have been fighting. The smaller class sizes in recent years have sped up the problem.
Most people and even the school board members know this as the problem already. It's the solution and the guts to do something about it that is escaping them.

I have heard that the smaller class sizes problem is only getting worse in the elementary grades, especially among the male population. True?

Small school+divide the talent= losing programs.

Schools lose so much money on soccer. Gee, let's start soccer to suck more money out of the athletic budget.

BOE, nice job.

Kick ball was added about 12/15 years ago.

No one that is currently on the BoE was there then.... but this one hasn't pulled the plug yet either so...
