I am of the opinion we have a an issue rearing it's ugly head..... this group should make regionals due to going north in D3. Although, an upset in districts won't shock me.
As for the future, people need to wake up. #31 is keeping them afloat this year.....after that, all bets are off and imo, .500 seasons are going to be the norm. Not much in the pipeline at this point.....

Not much in the pipeline?

There are two freshmen starting on the JV team and a third member of that class who is out with a knee injury might be the best of all three.

And despite not having the 3 best players in the class, the OG freshman team is still undefeated.

Might want to rethink that "not much in the pipeline" comment.

All fine and dandy but look at the sophomore and junior classes....
Not a ton in 8th grade either, but there is time to develop yet...

But the nagging issue that no one seems to want to address on this site: The OG JV team is so much better than the varsity team...why are these kids not playing varsity?

Have any of the of the JV players' parents come out of the seats to have a 'discussion' with an official?
if one equivocates politeness with playing time, that could lead to much disappointment moving forward,

Glandorf 8th grade is unbeaten....and big. Glandorf and SPPS both have very good 7th grade teams....and as mentioned, the freshmen class is very good.....OG will be fine for a long time.

One thing to consider for context purposes.... 8th grade has played 3 teams outside of Putnam County....
Play Elida and Bath this week.

Discussing any jr high is a little ridiculous at this point. At the jr high level if you're big that's about all it takes. I do know OE isn't bad either and these schools do play teams outside of the county such as Elida, Bath, Shawnee, Bryan, Defiance. Keep in mind when you say they play a lot of schools in the county that these jr high's are no bigger than any school in the county, SPPS is probably much smaller than most schools actually.

I'm only making the point that an undefeated 8th grade team who is playing all their games within a 1/2 hr of home is hardly indicative of future successes/failures.

Yes but those youngsters will soon find beer and cigarettes and it's all downhill from there.

And what is all the negativity towards OG?
OG will figure things out and be ok.
CG deserved to win that game.
They simply outplayed and out hustled OG.
And for everyone to be knocking OG many schools would love to have OG success!!!
State Semi, State Championship, Regional Semi, 2014-2015?
In high school boys basketball the season is good but what really counts is tournament time.
And if i was the other schools in OG region i would be little ticked because you guys say they are weak!!!
As for talent whoever is the dummy that said OG is going to be hurting???
They have 2 frshmen playing JV one frshmen out because of torn ACL who is prob best out all them.
They have undefeated freshmen team and a couple of 8th graders who willl jump to JV as freshmen one being Tyson nephew.
In my opinion next year team will be extremly good.
We will loose a great player in Bramlage but will leave open for other players to step up.
And the Juniors JV and Varsity are so unselfish play great team ball.

OG hit 14 3's last night in their win. Best I've seen them shoot as a team in a while

The key is OG has all those freshmen that come into the high school each year, between 15-25 legit players. Yes, some develop faster and slower than others, and that allows kids time to improve. Huge advantage over most D3 schools.

The Glandorf 7th and 8th grade teams are both in the WBL finals tomorrow. The 8th grade plays Van Wert, the 7th takes on Kenton.

OG freshman (15-0) play Shawnee Monday in the finals of the WBL tournament.

I heard OG won the freshmen tourney over Shawnee. How did the 7th and 8th grade play out?

Glandorf 8th grade won the tourney beating VW 38-17 or something close to that....7th grade won as well, not certain who they played though. Is all this OG negativity just simple jealousy of their success?? If you're from Putnam County or a WBL school, not sure why you wouldn't want to see a fellow school do well. Very difficult to sustain the success they've had over the past 20 yrs and three different head coaches. Will they have some "lean" years, of course...every successful program does....ask Dave Sweet about the late 80'/early 90's. This is coming from a non-OG resident or WBL fan...just a fan of good HS basketball.

I heard that last night at a girls basketball game. Now the JV team AND the freshmen team is off to the World Championships in Whogivesacrap, Germany.
Aww stewwie little. You just cannot help but post in just about every OG thread. I guess you are trying to get everyone's panties in a wad. It has to be one of the biggest compliment to us OG fans that you select, read and comment on just about every OG thread. The only reason one would do that is complete OCD for the Titan's or complete jealousy. Whatever the reason is keep them coming. We all enjoy your antics and conclusions you come to. They are quite enjoyable and funny. I wish your Red Devils good luck this post season.

Stew Smalls-there is enough pressure on student athletes and they do not need any added from you and your OG hating posse. If you want to bash idiotic parents, feel free. Every community has the over zealous fans who can tarnish the accomplishments of these athletes. Let's stick to the facts when referring to these kids as that is what they are, kids.......

You're an idiot.....that's their issue to deal with.....Could care less who your source is or what you know.....you can take your 'names' to the grave.....as much as you want to tell us.....most of the true OG fans don't care....were getting focused on the tournament this time of the year.........
