A couple of thoughts:

1. Hopewell-Loudon leaving the BVC to join a new league is a bad decision. New leagues rarely last long now a days, plus the BVC is the perfect fit for them since the conference has now established itself as a respectable league. No longer the Barely Varsity Confernce.

2. Montpelier to the GMC is never going to happen. They bring nothing to the table for the GMC. They don't bring gates and all thier sports are struggling.

3. Paulding to the GMC would work, only if they replace one school...either Holgate or Wayne Trace (if they left for the NWC).

4. NWC - add Wayne Trace and Liberty- Benton ( always thought LB would be a good fit). If LB stays in BVC, then NWC could get Parkway.

5. If the WBL would go to 12 teams...add Sidney in the south and Delohos to the north. Yes, Delphos, assuming they ever combine both St. John's and Jefferson together. If this did happen, they would be too big for the NWC and they are right in the middle of WBL country.

That is my two cents.
Agree with #4!

I wouldn't mind seeing this happen, but it will NEVER NEVER happen.

I haven't heard anything about HL's BVC replacement lately. Any juicy rumors?

RE: HL's BVC Replacement

Juiciest rumor I heard was that PH was a lock in the BVC if Hopewell leaves.

I don't foresee HLoudon leaving the BVC in the near future. The school just cleaned house with coaches & administration and I believe they'd want a little stability for awhile. Also, travel-wise, there's not a glaring league with far easier travel. They'd fit with the former-MAL schools in the SRL, but as a whole, they don't fit in with the new SBC where the rest went. Stay in the BVC & continue to play the former MAL. They're a location outlier either way, so quit bouncing around & find some stability somewhere.

Elgin will be joining the Northwest Central Conference starting August 2017.

I don't think Ridgedale will be far behind.
Always a watchful eyes on those Tiffin Calvert Senecas, Marion Local Flyers, Fort Loramie Redskins , New Albany Eagles.

A pending move to the south could play a major roll to the north. Plain City Jonathan Alder will become the 2nd team to leave the MOAC Red February 8th, joining the CBC.

The remaining teams (River Valley, Harding, Pleasent, Galion, North Union and Buckeye Valley) been persuing Shelby, Willard, Ontario and Clear Fork. Should something happen there, and you can bet the MOAC holdovers will be pressing, it could push what's left of the NOL to the long talked about SBC merger.

Another thing to watch would be North Union and BV joining the CBC as well.

Ridgedale looked into joining NWCC for football-only and were told "no." Ridgedale should join the conference as a whole given their demographics as a whole. Travel is the key, but with Elgin there, that would soften the blow.

The NOL-SBC merger needs to happen. Makes no sense why those two leagues haven't merged already. Hopefully the NOL-South and MOAC teams can help push it along.

Didn't the SBC just go to divisions by adding some smaller schools?

I believe that is correct. 7 in the Bay division and 8 in the River division. Starting 2016-17.

This could be a prototype of a logo for them:

It's still not as crazy as the OCC down by Columbus. 31 teams, 5 divisions, and with the way the suburbs are still growing, who knows how many more to come.

I thought the OCC had 32 teams?

Oops....isn't/didn't Mount Vernon leave? That "would" make 31.

Yeah I guess it's 32 right now, but Mount Vernon is leaving at the end of the school year and apparently Newark is considering it as well.
