My guess is this game will be played at Lima or Wapak.

More than likely Lima, the first meeting between these two teams was in Lima in '01

Has ML been at Wapak the last 2 weeks? If so I think the OHSAA has a rule about a team playing at the same venue three times in a row.

No one except for Grove fans ever thought this matchup could happen....Grove does have some history on their
side when facing ML....actually saw the Grove/ML game at Lima Senior in the "Fog" back in '01. Grove also
defeated the Flyers for Putnam Co.'s only state football championship later.....

that being said, I just don't see this one being much of a game...(sorry to all our Grove fans but...)
ML is on another plateau.....

Gloucter Trimble/NSP winner is definitely rooting for the Bulldogs also....

I see this one being played at Lima Sr. also.....ML 35 CG 7
home to the "Flounder & Rocketman's" Girls HS rankings

I just hope we don't have a let down after defeating ML and forgetting we have another game to play. :punk:

You could be right this week. But you should be doing nothing but eating crow big boy. You were running your fingers all last week about Arlington.

That is a very popular myth.

No one will give Grove or any other DVII team a chance against Marion Local. Let's just play the game and see how we stack up against the best. This might not be the most talented Grove team to reach state. But this team is making the CG community proud on want they have accomplished this year. Go Dogs. Keep proving people wrong (me included) on what you can accomplish.

I agree. I still remember how close Tayt Mayberry and the Maag boys were to knocking off my Flyers in 2001 after many didn't give them a chance. I can still picture the last play in the end zone when the ML defender turned a Grove TD into an interception in a split second. By the way, I don't believe that game was played in fog, was it?

Has a team ever played three straight games at the same site?

No that wasn't Grove's fog ball at Spartan Stadium. I'm in a fog right now. But I think that game was in 2002. I don't remember the opponet right now. That last play of the ML game was the only play In Blaine Maags high school carrer he had a chance to make and didn't. Blaine was only a freshman that year. What a special player he was.

The fog was against McComb when they had the twins playing. The fog was our 12th man

inn8 is correct. Was too surreal, rolling in fast just in time for McComb's last possession.

I'm Thinking Hicksville did in 2011..Liberty Benton , Patrick Henry and Coldwater in the final 4 all at Lima.

Tayt was one of the most talented athletes Grove had. He also had the nastiest knee injury I ever witnessed.

No sense in even creating a thread for this game. Just wasting space. We all know the final outcome.
