You missed Grove vs. Pandora this year. In 2001 Grove beat Pandora and McComb.
7-6 NWC.....:)

That's interesting though hounddog........All the winners in the series is NWC: the Grove and Ada.....and the BVC: Liberty-Benton and Hardin Northern.

Congrats to Grove in an upset. That defense was lights out, in addition to Arlington playing their worst game of the year. Enjoy the win Grove, but you won't be in much longer.

Thanks Captain Obvious. Would you give Arlington a chance against Marion Local?

What do you think attributed to Arlington playing their worse game of the year? I think Groves defense had a lot to do with that. Also the BVC schedule can be blamed. All of the good teams in the BVC only have to prepare for half of their games. The other half your JV team could win. Then you get into the playoffs and you need to be ready to play each week. Which your schedule didn't prepare you for. Not saying the NWC is a power conference at all. With the exception of Paulding the NWC is fairly balanced with teams you need to prepare for each week.

The BVC is very top heavy every year 2-3 teams are usually pretty good. Then they have some teams that can compete somewhat but the rest of the league is awful or mediocre at best.

The NWC is traditionally a physical conference that is very competitive most years with some teams (ie.paulding) that just can't put it together except for about 1 year each decade.

Jefferson and Bluffton have lost in the State finals. LCC has never been that close.

A big tip of the hat to Grove. I did not give them much of a chance in this one. Grove's defense dominated and when you get to this level, if you can dominate one side of the ball, you'll be successful. I'd agree with Houndog also, BVC was very top heavy. The 7 divisions now really put some teams in the playoffs that really should not be there. Always good to see Cinderella stories, few thought Grove could make the playoffs, let alone in the region.

Helps when the entire NWC has enrollments north of 100. Cut Ada to 40 and 4 others to 75 and you'd have a much difference conference. Of course I'd expect the Ada folks to be smart enough to GTFO unlike a school that will remain nameless but very much implied.
