I know it's just part of the discussion, but honestly common opponents and who you've played will only go as far as kickoff on Friday night. It will honestly have zero impact on this game. The only exception I would say is that LB has trailed (BG) in the second half of a game and came back to win it so they have that experience of overcoming adversity. How bad you've beaten other schools, what the score was at halftime, they play in this league, etc have zero impact on this game.

I agree. I was simply responding to the comment about Tarzan and Jane.

Playmaker....you don't think VB will be a top team in the conference this year?
They very easily could end up 3rd in the conference and 1st in their division

Pretty similar results, A-town won all three games in similar fashion:
Shaw W 26-0 Parkway W 34-6 Van Buren W 31-0

IMO Parkway was better than Van Buren at least on the nights we played them.

I guess I'm not used to calling VB a top team! It's been a while! Put it this way, I think parkway would beat vb most years, including this year.

Wow, I just looked and the 5 teams that have beat Parkway (0-5) have a combined record of 20-5, and two of those losses were to Coldwater. Brutal.

The weather could throw a wrench into things as mentioned above.... Thoughts on who this favors? I would have to say LB with their more downhill running approach. Both teams have a solid running game, but maybe this limits Arlington's QB's scrambling ability?

Geez, I hope neither. Add bad refs to the mix and the post game chatter on this game ought to be really interesting.

Common opponents can give you a little insight, but playing head to head is the key. LB has won this matchup 12 straight years, meaning the Arlington kids were in kindergarten the last time they beat LB in varsity football. Who won this game when the senior classes were in 8th grade?

LB won that game in 2010 28-20 @ Arlington.... this was the game that Arlington scored late to make it 21-20 and missed the extra point..... LB then scored on a long run to seal it. LB's last visit to Arlington in 2012 was the 42-0 game.

2004- 38-6
2006- 35-7
2008- 25-0
2010- 28-20
2012- 42-0

Avg. Score Games at Arlington since the 12 game streak started in 2003.

LB- 33.6
Arl.- 6.6

Not that these numbers mean anything but still fun to throw out there.

I just checked the future weather map and it does look like it should be clear for tonight's game. I like the sound of that. Also, just an FYI, I heard Arlington is having some fall festival tonight for the kids. If you are making the game, ya better show up early; unless you want to park at Jac N' Does and walk to the school. It's going to be a packed house.
