I will just be the first to throw out the name......Mike Cramer from Marion Local
before anyone else does.....almost a perfect storm so to speak and after what happened
last night in that area with all that rain.
He is someone who could come right in and jumpstart this program back to the glory days
of when Spike Berry patrolled the sidelines for the Hornets...Coach Cramer has the
experience to come in with such short notice and get the kids believing again in themselves...
So if you're out there..........RM

I do believe that the talent level the past 2 years isn't even close to when Palte won only 7 games with a 4 year starter at QB. Why do you think he turned his back on Grove? Just like Cooper before him...he got out because the talent wasn't coming and he saw "supposedly" greener pastures at LCC. That is to be seen.

Everything you said is true. But I think you left out the part of a poor Superintendent had something to do with Palte leaving. To bad our current Super didn't start a year earlier. It is like the 1980's all over again. Talent level is down but poor coaching and not getting the kids in the correct position will cost you 1 to 3 wins a year. I'm sure you remember the Denny Shanner and Howard Foltz years. We got another Shanner or Foltz on the sidelines. Nice guys but not good high school football head coaches. Hopefully the administration will realize this and get lucky enough to get the next up and coming Mike Fell to turn things around.

I thought Palte left for "Family" reasons..are you saying he lied to the players and the community?
You sound pretty close to him maybe he could use you on his staff at LCC.

Your logic is skewed..it's ok for coach Palte to have a decline and blame talent, but to not give Coach Schafer a chance to show what his ability is because you know after 2 seasons that he's not a good high school coach? You admitted that the talent was less than what Palte had just a year before he took the job. Do you realize that Fell had 9 wins after 2 seasons and Schafer has 7? Thank goodness you didn't have a say in Fell staying or going after 2 years.
The defensive coordinator was Def. Coordinator at LB for 10 years and is on this staff but he's not a good coach? Do you realize how foolish that makes you sound?

We ARE NOT big enough numbers wise to have both soccer and football. We will continue down the mediocre to bad road in BOTH as long as we have both.
Will all kids that play soccer play football if soccer is cut.... No. Just as all football players wont play soccer if football is cut.
However if you cut football you might as well put in pay to play for ALL other sports! Boys and Girls both! Because even mediocre/ bad football pays the bills and a great undefeated soccer team wont!

And true, looking forward, you have to make a decision on football or soccer. Can't do both at small schools
