Did you just use an example from the 1990's lol and no that worked in our favor but there were a very small number of kids that we have "taken" while you guys have filled your entire programs with recruted players. But anyways why are we straying from the ignorance of you believeing that the crime in lima is the fault of LSH and LCC people still try and say that recruting doesnt happen I recieved a phone call my jr. year from a head coach at LCC telling how the grass is greener and that i wouldnt have to worry about the cost to go there and a starting position on both sides of the ball. I obviously declined but find it funny that according to LCC folks that it doesnt happen when it does.

Were you as good as Rico in 'Napoleon Dynamite'!!!!!

Well the subject at hand, which in your case is LCC recruiting, has been non-stop in these basketball/football threads for what...2 years now? How ironic :coffee:

Very late to the recent discussion... But from everything I have heard about these kids and their character... LCC, Kill, heck ANYONE would be crazy not to try and keep them around. Good kids are what every school wants.

Their basketball talents speak for themselves. But my understanding is they are simply great individuals. I wish them the best in everything the do...regardless of where they choose to finish their high school curriculum.

I am probably confusing threads...but I also want to add AGAIN...that I believe LCC will be a very competitive basketball team...even if the players mentioned leave. Obviously, it would be very difficult for them to make Columbus...but I believe a winning record is likely. There are a lot of good players there...and Kill will get the most out of them.

I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

Thanks DMan. The three individuals being talked about are great kids and classmates. They and their parents will make whatever decision they believe to be best for them, and anyone who says they should do otherwise is foolish.

Obviously, I'm of the opinion that each of them should stay at LCC. However, perhaps surprisingly, my opinion is based on their future after high school and has nothing to do with the basketball team. In fact, I saw zero LCC basketball games this past year, so, clearly, I have no vested interest or emotional attachment to the LCC basketball program. However, as mentioned, that decision is completely up to each individual and I wish them the best of luck in whatever decision they make, whether that's transferring to another school, dropping basketball to pick up a different sport, joining the choir, etc.

yes, the recruiting stories concerning LCC and others have been much longer than 2-3 years here on the RC...
they most likely started shortly after Cooper bolted CG for LCC....much more fertile grounds than the flatlands
of Putnam Co. and while it did not pan out exactly how it was planned....definitely brought the RC some much-needed
exposure in the Limaland media......

have there been other recruiting stories for sure, but LCC seems to be at the forefront of most of them....DSJ
has been able to avoid most of them......Elida, Wapak, OG, LB, Ada, and Kenton are others that have been mentioned
in the past......PG, Cory Rawson, Fort Jennings, and Miller City have been able to avoid any sense of impropriety in the
recruiting wars......I can only see this escalating with the new LSH signing of Coach Simpson and am quite anxious to
see how everybody here handles it when an influx of athletes from throughout the Tri-State area happens on Spartan Way....

I will give the LSH administration (more specifically Mr. Walton and the LBJ contingent) the ability to see the future
of high school athletics......the OHSAA has lost touch with reality and with today's ruling on "Competitive Balance"
the gloves have come off and it is now every man for himself......RM

ESPN 2016 top 60 out
VJ King SF #18
Omari Spellman PF #24
Derrick Funderburk C #49
Xavier Simpson PG #52
Trevell Beck SF #59

X is the top PG in the state and region and 11th in the country for class of 2016.
X is 5'10 and every other PG is over 6'
Only going into his JR year and plus going to LSH is going to make X better and also get him more exposure.
By the time X graduates he will be top 5-7 PG in the country.
So for everyone who says X will go to a MAC school HMMMMM get ready.
I see OSU,Michigan,MSU,and big D1 schools offering him Scholarships.
All he can do is improve and get better.
And now that he is going to be playing against D1 schools and his dad coaching him he is only going to get better.

How is Lima Senior going to get him any more exposure than what he has already gotten at LCC? There schedules aren't that much different since LCC beefed up their schedule since leaving the NWC. I think LCC has added Toldo Scott and others for the next few years. I think LCC made it to the state last year and probaly would the next two years if he stayed at LCC which we all know isn't going to happen. LSH will have its hands full getting to the state when Lakewood St.Ed could be in their regional. If you're a good player as X is college coach's will find you even if you live in Podunk, Idaho.

LSH schedule is going to be way different then LCC in the next year or so.
Quincy will get rid of some games and add alot tougher games.
But you are correct if you are that good you will get noticed no matter where you are.
But i do think playing against D1 conpetition everyweek is going to be alot better then playing D2 and D3
Playing teams like TCC and schools that Quincy will add is better then playing CG, Spencerville, Lincolnview,Allen East etc

So, has anyone heard any word on whether or not X (or any other LCC ball player) has transferred to LSH?

I don't believe anyone has "officially" transferred as of right now, although there is a pretty good sense among the LCC community regarding who is staying (if anyone) and who is going (if anyone).
