I still think Xavier will want to go play for his dad. Why wouldn't he?
Deal with Liberty Benton & OG for a birth at State OR deal with the TRAC or Mansfield Sr & whoever comes out of Cleveland (ie St Ed's)?

+ He could still play for his dad in AAU....

I know Lima Senior will have a lot of eyes on them and Q for that matter this summer. For the good and the bad. And unlike what some Q promoters errrr supporters think I will not be looking for the bad. But others (especially the schools in which they lose kid[s]to Q) will as far as coaching days counted etc. If JZ knows what's good- he will educate Q very closely on the rules for coaching days and the do's and dont's. Although JZ might need to learn them himself... Lol.

Ohhhhhhhh boy! ^^^^^^^. Ya know.... One might respect Q as I'm sure he deserves it and doesn't like the 'attention' folks are giving him (although I have my opinions on that), but with all the hoopla, "real talk", state predictions, God of all basketball from certain community folks... It puts a bad taste in your mouth and in the end it's hard to root for him. Not saying it is fair. So the real question is.... Will Lima Sporting Goods or CapWear make the 2015 Div I state basketball champion shirts?? I kid I kid.....

Usher twitter acct said Q said no new players have contacted him about coming to LSH. The fact that he even had to say that leaves me speechless. Also Q said it is a family matter that needs to be discussed between Q, the mom and X on where his Highschool playing concerns. The writing is on the wall........

HS coaches are allowed to coach AAU? I honestly did not know that.

From what I can remember of our days in AAU high school coaches can coach AAU but are not allowed to have any contact with there own high school student team members.

Why would he tell your son now that he is leaving and have to deal with it in the hallways the rest of the school year. He may stay, but I highly doubt it. If I was in the family's position, I would not make that announcement until the summer. A lot less people and pressure to deal with. If they announce it now, he goes to school every day for the next month and has kids(and probably teachers) asking him not to go.

Why even an announcment? Just end the school at LCC and enroll in LSH

If anyone really thinks that Xavier Simpson is not going to play for his dad next year, they are sadly mistaken. As other posters have stated, he doesn't have to say or do anything right now and let the school year end and enroll at Lima Senior in the summer. Blood is thicker then water and that will be evident on this move. There is not one kid out there who given the opportunity to play for his father would turn that down. Not sure about what transpired with the decision of Rob Rucki at L-B and his inability to play for his dad at Findlay, but I cannot think of any other situation of the top of my head that a son given the opportunity did not play for their father in whatever the sport the father coached. Tre Cobb and Dantez Walton may follow, they may stay. Down the road there may be a influx of basketball talent that suddenly moves into Lima to play for the Spartans, I think that is a certainty. The days of kids showing loyalty to a school are rapidly coming to an end. I just wonder how soon it will happen at an acclerated rate in the rural areas in Ohio?

Someday soon there will be only club teams and AAU. School teams won't exist and parents will find out what real pay to play is all about. People think "choice" is their right--- well it's coming . Really kind of sad that loyalty and tradition will get lost in the shuffle.
