He wouldn't be able to coach his own players in his program on Sundays... if he was the HC, hence quit his day job, I think.
Actually new OHSAA rules state that you can train up to 4 of your own players at any one time. So he could have numerous training sessions on any given Sunday. To go a step further he could train 4 current LSH players plus any players that transfer in all together until those transfer players play in their first scrimmage. OHSAA created these new rules to make it easier for high school coaches to work with their players and not have them go elsewhere.

No school that has the kids best interest in mind is going to allow the head coach to charge his players a fee to workout with him.

Getting anxious to hear who is going to be announced. I heard over 30 people applied even ones who have been playing/ coaching overseas. Names I've been told applied: Doug Davis, Matt Tabler, Aaron Hutchins, Jamar Butler, Quincey Simpson, Brock Howe, and 3 current coaches at other schools that were not named. Soooooo still thinking Davis but curious as to the thoughts as it gets closer? And as I have been guilty lately as "bashing" someone I do apologize. I have my opinions on this certain people that were for sure warranted. But I should've maybe had more kuth(sp?) than that. Best of Luck to whomever gets the job.

The deadline for applicants at Lima Senior was this past Friday, so I would have to believe they will start contacting people for interviews in the near future.

Looking at these various names, the one that really intrigues me as a fan is Aaron Hutchins. A great high school player who did very well at Marquette and should have a world of knowledge with different kids and situations regarding to those. I think he would be a great high school coach another Bob Seggerson disciple who would stress discipline and accountability to oneself and to his teammates and school. Even though I do not believe he has been a head coach at any level I think he would be up to the challenge at a divison 1 school. Either way decision day on this job is fast approching.

Ghost of Obed,
Why would Q have to quit his day job? He would not have to be at school during the day, his assistant coaches would be taking care of the "in school" duties of the program.

I was referring to the "sunday" rule in which you later said was a non-issue. thanks for clarification.
