I think my previous pots was misunderstood......I think Xavier def. has D1 potential. But there are a lot of D1 programs around the country that offer guys every year. X is not good enough for a program to create a position for pops to get a coaching gig. There are many guards around the country that can play D1 where a coach doesn't need to give dad a spot on the coaching staff. If X and Q are a package deal, most coaches would just as well look elsewhere.

For the transfer rules question, a student can transfer from a catholic school into the school district they reside in without penalty (a la Brucey Hodges to Perry a couple years ago). If any other students transfers to a different school they have to sit out 50% of the regular season contests before playing. Harvist Prep (who just blatantly disregard any recruiting rules) had three guys on their team who sat out half the games before playing the rest of the season this year.

Are you sure about the private school to home public school transfer with no penalty? I thought in the last year or so they added the "sit out 50%" rule and eliminated everything else.

Bruce Hodges played immediately at Perry when he was booted at LCC. Got him the 4th game of the year.

Chris doesnt need that pay difference... trust me.
Chris Adams
Doug Davis
Matt Tabler
Jamar Butler
Those are my top 4.
Q wont even apply. Someone said is co-hort Warren Pughsley... hahahah he got let go by Spencerville as the girls coach because he couldn't produce W's.
And speaking of Q and Pughsley... Im surprised no one has mentioned the third guy apart of the "Lima trio who gives everything to the youth and never accepts monetary benefits" (sarcasm ofcourse)- Chris Jackson.

You are very wrong if you say Q doesn't want the LSH job. He may actually be closer to it than you think.

For the 3rd and final time.....Quincy Simpson is NOT getting the LSH job.
He is not even on their radar.

For educational purposes. Look up bylaw 4-7-6. A kid who switches schools in the same district (ala LCC to Senior) BEFORE the school year gets a free pass for an INTRA district transfer. He is inelgible until ruled elgible...but the rule allows it.
I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

FC,
I can believe it when you say he is NOT getting the position.....to say that he is NOT
on their radar is not true either.....depending on what criteria they set and the
manner they go about this search will tell you a lot about LSH athletics....there
could be outside factors that will have to be addressed.....RM

I have been saying no way he is getting it for awhile but tides are really turning and it's looking more and more like Q, 3 of LCC starters, 1 Elida starter and others may be coming home.

The three LCC starters can move from private to public one time "free pass". Cory royster did it when he went from lcc to Shawnee, then moved into the elida district. The elida starter you speak of mother moved back into the LCS district after his freshman year at elida. So he too would be free and clear. Also heard the pitential transfer from elida could play QB for the football team.....

Contrary to what anyone "thinks," "heard," or was "told,".......you are permitted a one-time only transfer back into your public school district of residence. Period. Bottom line.

From that point forward, you are then subject to the transfer rules.

This is a VERY VERY big hire for Lima Senior. The decision they are making is for the future of Lima Senior Basketball. It could become relevant again or it could continue to be lost for some time. They have debated on "recruiting" or where will the kids play on here but it has happened for decades. Back in the 1970's Lawrence Stubblefield was at North Jr High BUT ended up at LCC and became Lima City Player of the Year in 1978. I can go on about basketball. In footbal Barker and Christoff go from LCC to Lima Sr and they win a State Championship in 1996. Bottom line kids WILL GO to where the GOOD programs are and where will they get the best exposure. The question is simple if you are a good middle school player right now in Lima, where would you want to go? LCC very possiblycould win State the next two years. Hindsight as they say is always 20/20 BUT one could say IF they would have hired Q in 2007, ALL 3 of LCC's sophomores would have been at Lima Senior and more than likely Kimbrough as well.

"Bottom line kids WILL GO to where the GOOD programs are and where will they get the best exposure."

Where have you been the last decade? Here on RC it is known that each and every kid who has ever transferred into a local program has done so for academic...and academic only...reasons. :-D

I know this is confusing. But they changed the rule that you sit out half a season for the transfer. It used to be the whole year. To my knowledge, and according to their current website...they did not change the exception allowing for a return to the home school...as long as it it's declared before the school year. It is certainly not clearly advertised either way on their website anymore.

Excuse me. Bruce played the 4th game of the season at Fort Jennings. Look it up. That is not 50%.
