Did Spencerville's regional team have Chad Fast on it?

I believe so. And I believe it was 1987. Maybe Mr. B can correct me, if I'm wrong.
Forgot about Fast...he go on to play college ball? My memory fails me

Dman - you wouldn't be biased on your opinion on Smith from Delphos would you?

I'm biased toward a lot of things. Though I believe calling the NWC's leading scorer (as a sophmore)..."one" of the best players in the area is a fair opinion...don't you? I'd invite you to do a little research (shooting percentages, etc.) before the next reply. There are opinions. Then there are informed opinions. ;-)
I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

Not disputing the numbers... although his dad is the coach. One can be biased for other reasons.

The fact you can't dispute the numbers just about sums up the validity of your opinion. "Haters gonna hate" they say.

There have been a lot of successful coach's kids in multiple sports. There are also a ton of people who seem to gather enjoyment tearing down successful people...in all walks of life.

There is/was no valid reason to question my original comment...except the aforementioned phenomenon.

There's never any valid reason to question what you post... you always make that clear.

I'm not "hating" on the Smith kid. He's a good player. One of the "better ones in the area" is debatable, at least I thought so.

I'm asking you if you're a tad bit biased?

You admit that YOU can't dispute the numbers...yet you want to talk about bias? Might want to look up that definition to see which pot you're planted in.

Disagree at will. I'll stand by my assertion that the NWC's leading scorer is one of the best players in the area. I didn't realize that such a general compliment could be so upsetting to anyone who doesn't have a bone to pick...?

If it makes you feel better...go ahead and pick your favorite conference's leading scorer...and I'll include him on Dman's coveted "ONE of the Best Players in the Area List."

My opinion, which I'm entitled to as is yours, is he might not be the best player on his own team... that's unbiased and debatable. Hard to have one of the better players in the area not be the best on his own team.

Just because you say it's so, doesn't mean it is...
and the same goes for me. If I'm picking guys off DJ to start a team, I'm picking Thompson... that's my opinion.

Again, can you say you're unbiased when it comes to Jefferson athletics, specifically basketball? I know I can.

Goodluck to Jefferson and the Smiths in the tourney. It would be nice to see several NWC teams advance.

It was 1987, Chad Fast was on the team. I believe he might have played College ball, but Not sure.

It's subjective, so trying to argue the point that someone/anyone is biased seems silly to me. What does it matter? <<<<< that's rhetorical

Btw.... This does sound TOTALLY biased --in a passive-aggressive way.

Hence my original "Thompson is a bulldog" quote. Seems you could have voiced this opinion about five responses ago without reaching so hard to be a downer...no? Not sure I, or anybody would have thought anything of it. Seems reasonable...

If standard protocal is to act like a beaver basher every time someone brings up one of these "debatable" topics...the world and RC would become a very unlikable place.

We'll disagree on your self identified objectivity (realizing all opinions are supposedly weighted equally) and wish Ada and the Sauter's the same tournament luck...

Finally made the time to see my 1st game of the season and figured it would be a blowout, but ended up watching the last place NWC team lose a closer game than anticapated to the 1st place GMC team...Agree with you Dman

Don't expect him for a while.......he's pretty depressed about these last games. Lol

Yes, it was a bad weekend basketball wise…and something else that happened…but you know what? We had a great pizza at Beer Barrel on the way home and the sun rose Sunday morning and it was a pretty good day. Lol

The lowdown on Shawnee beating Fort Recovery…seems like everybody is shooting lights out against FR lately. Fort Loramie hit 67% of their 3's, then SH hit like 60% of their 3's. Saturday Shawnee hit 75% of their 3's in the 2nd half. Everytime FR tried to get back in the game they hit a 3 or the Oneil kid was shooting free throws. He was 21 for 27 from the free throw line. That has to be a record of some kind! That accounted for 21 of his 30 points.

Slice does a great job on these scoreboard threads.

I being a jeff alum, have been to a few of the games this season. I've noticed two things...

1: All of Jefferson's plays have to be run through Thompson to have success

2: Rice has been playing a great deal more as he didn't play in most of the first games this season. Seems he is starting to become a threat when teams focus on Thompson and Smith.

Look to see Jefferson knock off st henry and move into districts.

Is the Rice the son of 'Downtown Donnie Rice'.........I remember a D3 coach making the statement about Donnie Rice saying that there was not a shot he would pass up......man, he likes to shoot.....

About St Henry......Jeff could beat them, but if the big boy is on....look out...I think he is a junior this season and he can take over a game.....St Henry is always a hard team to figure out.......last season after we beat them in the District finals, it appeared that losing did not even bother them.......they can be really tough or they can just go through the motions!!!!!!!!

Rice has been huge. I also agree with flounder about St. Henry. It really is a tough sectional game that is difficult to handicap.
