Offenses can sometimes take a step back if a new coach calls the plays...all coaches have different styles and persectives, so the players may need some time to adjust. Kenton will not fall off the map, but may start slower than normal. Moyer is a wing t guy, but it sounds like it is different from Frye's version...there may be some growing pains until the players adapt to the new offense...it just happens with transition...

I will agree with your " sometimes " the offense can step back. But it can also move forward. That also happens with " transition "

Frye came to Wapak and from day 1 he turned it around. 1-9 the year before he got here and 7--3 his first year. He has a relentless way about him and the team got better and better and when they rolled it was pretty. A good coach will keep this train rolling and I believe Moyer is outstanding

Have talked to a few kids and they are excited and ready to get to work with the new coach.

One thing Coach has going in his favor is Morgan will fit any offense you put him.

Huffman is a good qb also. So we will have a heated battle for starter I'm sure. Morgan is a great runner and that's fits well

Huffman may have a higher ceiling, he is very talented athlete that needs to fill out that long body
Morgan is a heck of a safety and named all league there last year
Makes for an interesting choice as far as playing time and what is best for the overall team going forward

cant lose Morgan on defense. Maybe see a rotation at qb this year. Bring Huffman in when spreading the defense and split Morgan out.

I like Morgan as our qb. Has the experience we need. I like Huffman at wr. Give kodi a big 6'4 target to throw to.

Both Huffman and Morgan are good athletes Morgan gives you a better option to scramble and run but Huffman maybe the better pure passer.

I am in the group with Huffman as the QB, and move Morgan to a skill position and keeping him on defense.

The one issue that I hope gets more addressed When Moyer gets here, even though I understand we ran the ball mostly and out of wing-t, is that the pass blocking from the o-line gets better. It seemed every time we tried to pass there was insane pressure getting to the QB. I believe someone said Moyer is an o-line guy so hopefully this can become an offensive line that is even better than the good ones we had under Frye.

I said that alot for a couple of years now. Seems like we can't pass block.

C.J. Sharp is an assistant at Kenton. I am not sure if Rick helps out in any official capacity. I see him around a lot, and I know he is very close to Coach Mauk, but I am not sure of his "official" status.

Not on varsity staff. He might coach at the middle school. They change those coaches to a parent of the week type of thing. That is one thing fackler needs to change getting coaches at that level that want to coach for reasons other than my son is playing. To me that is a youth league thing that shouldn't make it to the junior high level.

The player Im looking forward to watching next year is Schoeline who is a beast on defense.

Cj Sharp was in the press box for every game - like I said, not sure of his "official" capacity, but he may have been coaching the middle school.
And you are right - some more continuity at lower levels would be nice!
