Does anyone think Vanlue, Arcadia, Cory Rawson will follow suite to HN and make the NWCC move within the next 3-5 years? I can see it happening. Would make for a decent haul to and from Arcadia and Vanlue for some teams. Just a thought.

I agree. LB is gaining absolutely nothing remaining in the BVC. A BVC championship i guess and 10-1 record each year after most likely losing in round 1 of playoffs? Alright. With the new division alignments Division 5 has become tougher and LB i believe has now become somewhat a smaller D.5 team correct me if i am wrong. LB will take first round shellackings on the chin from here out like they did this year from Huron. Why? It's simple, beating up on schools in the BVC where most are 2 to 3 size smaller in numbers doesn't prepare you for the division 5 teams you'll face in the playoffs as a 4/5 seed even going 10-0 in the BVC. To each their own though LB, it's your move though since clearly the BVC "revolves around LB".

In the last 10 years when LB finally started to win in football. they had success in the playoffs playing schools their size. What happens going forward remains to be seen. It's talent that wins not always more numbers.

It's interesting that they are too big for the BVC. They have won 1 BVC championships in the last 4 years I believe. My kids were done with HS in 2008. I remember many years in the 90's and early 2000's when HN destroyed LB in football year after year when LB then had many more kids then HN and other schools.

But of course we forget this as usual.

To each their own. Not sure why you are quoting my statement as I just stated they reap no benefit staying in the BVC. Not just football but all sports. In my opinion with football they will struggle to win a playoff game in round 1 with the new division alignments by lack of preparation playing BVC schools. I don't see how anyone can not see this as true but hey as I said to each their own, this is solely just my opinion.

LB was just about the smallest school in d5 if I remember right. Could drop back down to 6 the next time around.

2 different coaches (including Brunow) talked to administration in the past about moving leagues. You were Blind if you didn't see what was coming down the pike.

Also, there are to many people that put to much weight on playoffs. To make it to state takes something special and a little luck. High schools sports are about learning life lessons and playing sports with your childhood friends (except for recent transfer to win kids). It's some of the best days of your life. It is much more fun to be competitive weekly than knowing your fate prior to the season even beginning.

How about winning league championships? How many USV faithful hate that they won the NWCC in basketball this year instead of the NWC? Those kids are having the time of their life right now and I bet they don't care.

If HN is going to move forward with football this was the best thing for them, but something that was done way to late.

Hope coach Dennis can get things moving in the right direction.

The NWCC originally started with schools that had different issues. USV and Perry were not welcome in the NWC. The WCOC went away which left Fairbanks, Ridgemont, Riverside, and Waynesfield looking for conferences. If memory serves me right these were the core of the conference with Marion Catholic and a non football Temple in there. Each school brought there own strengths and weaknesses. For football the push to get second level points made if difficult for some of these teams to find opponents so the league started looking for more schools to join. They picked up St. Wendelin and Troy Christian, along with Yellow Springs. Troy Christian and Yellow Springs soon found other conferences that cut down on travel down south. Marion Local and St. Wendelin struggled to field teams and eventually left the league. A league down south dis-banded and we picked up Ft. Loramie and Sidney Lehman. We are a small school conference with school that go through the ups and downs of enrollment and the number of participating athletes, with the exception of Lehman who seems to always have solid numbers. Granted our top teams usually can't compete with other leagues top teams but as you can see the league was not formed with top teams from other leagues. So we are what we are. That's great BOB22 that you can sit back and chant "My league is better then your league" for the most part those in the NWCC don't really care. There are many coaches and parents that work their butts off to give our kid the chance to play football, we aren't here to live up to your standards. We will gladly accept Hardin Northern into our league and help them get their athletic program get back on it's feet. And when the BVC gets tired of giving Cory the beat down we will open our arms to them as well. Are we the weakest conference in the state? Don't know and don't care.

Wrong in two counts. Yellow Springs didn't move to a conference down south-they disbanded football completely after the 2008 season. Also, no league disbanded. Lehman and Loramie voluntarily came to the NWCC to cut down on travel. All others in that league are in Dayton/Cincy.

Crop,

It is over. Now you need to decide if your going to be part of the solution or the problem. Mike Dennis is a huge hire and brings instant credibility. The school stepped up and did what.they had to do to save football. Now it is the communities turn to do their part.

Honestly, adding HN gives the NWCC a better chance of making it. The league now has WG, Ridgemont, Perry, USV, Riverside, and HN in football... Temple in everything else. If they could find another school or 2 their size more this way instead of Ft Loramie and Lehman... it could be a decent league for those schools. That's why the full court press will now be on CR, Arcadia, and Vanlue... or some other small school that struggles fielding teams. Goodluck to the NWCC.

And why would that be?
Always a watchful eyes on those Tiffin Calvert Senecas, Marion Local Flyers, Fort Loramie Redskins , New Albany Eagles.

Was told it will disband, Loramie and Lehman are gone will find something closer, same with Riverside, W-G and perry looking to fill that NWC spot, and what have you left? Ya three Hardin county schools, and temple. Just saying.

NWC isn't looking for a spot to be filled... And believe me, they wouldn't take just one school - 2 or none for football scheduling...

This isn't even close to being right. Lehman and Loramie actually left their prior conference because it was too far away. I don't see the MAC adding either one anytime soon. NWCC is the closest option for either of them.
