Looking at the post about the three greatest games ( or something like that) and I guess it is hard to believe how good the polar bears where at one time and really not that long ago. What is it going to take to get them back ? I would like a serious discussion as a Hardin county resident I like to see the county schools succeed .

If they are looking for a new coach they should be looking for a coach that is charismatic. Someone the players, fans and parents can rally around. I guess the Bears need to find a coach who is not Polar-izing :-)

Can it happen? Yes. Will it happen? Who knows? The head coach at the high school can't build a program alone. The community needs to bring back the feeling that football is important. You HAVE to have your best athletes in the school on the football field. You do this by having a strong youth program, followed by a strong middle school program. And when I mean strong, I mean numbers. You can't have 20-30% of your boys in a class open enrolling in other districts. You can't have youth soccer programs that go up through middle school. Due to small class sizes, you already have a small group, you need 7-10 boys per class in the football program, grades 9-12. Once a varsity program is established, then you need to make sure you have enough numbers to have JV football. Very important development for the freshmen / sophomores who don't get many snaps on Friday nights.

My guess is effingA when the board votes this month on league affiliation that this too will be decided very soon. As far as their athletes are concerned everybody on this message board knows where all their athletes went last summer when they pulled the plug on the varsity football program.

With the change at Kenton... could some of those that left return... or will the league affiliation cause more? Interesting times at HN...

When is the next board meeting at Hardin northern ? I think they are deciding about joining the nwcc because the nwcc wants an answer in March.

Will see a yes vote to change leagues and someone has accepted the head job. Just waiting on BoE approval to make it official.

That is all for now.

What date does the board approve? Is there a board agenda available reflecting these items?

Billy Lawerence would be a great person for this job. He is a great leader of student athletes and a great person. He coached my son and I listen to him preach every Sunday. You could not ask for a better person.

Look up the HN website and find out. I'll trust my source.
