Congrat's to coach Murphy and his assistant coaches on a dominant performance. Their championship shirts said it best "We Are Back", and they will be around for several years to come. They are young, gaining confidence, and only getting better. Their team chemistry and passion for the sport clearly was demonstrated on Saturday. Between breaks, Defiance (as a team) were drilling, and working on moves under the direction of their coaches. All the other teams were laying around on the mats or hanging out in the stands, while the coaches were doing much of the same.
Their off season dedication to the sport was obvious on Saturday. The open mats, camps, and monthly clinics is paying off. Murphy and his staff appear to have a great relationship with their kids. The mutual respect between kids and coaches was obvious. The coaches are getting everything they can out of each kid. I believe they had 8 in the finals and 5 more going for 3rd place. Kids like Jimenez, McCllelan, Yocum, and D. Barajas were seeing a lot of action during the season, that never saw the mat on Saturday. I left yesterday's tourney impressed and I'm certain other did as well.

Anyone know why Silas Smith didn't wrestle for Kenton?

Reading the newspaper articles and init4life's statement makes it clear that Defiance had a great performance in Kenton Saturday. If their shirts are correct that they are back, is Defiance poised to make a run like Wapak has recently with championships in four consecutive years?
For next year, Defiance, Bath, & Wapak appear to be tops again; can anyone such as Shawnee improve enough to challenge and create more balance in the league?

looking towards the future... is there any 7th or 8th grader worth looking forward to in the WBL... it seems like the talent is down from the last three years
