I just saw how he reacted on the sideline after Kenton scored in the Bryan game. He gave the choke signal towards the Bryan bench and coaches. During the Elida game he pointed and fist pumped towards the Elida bench. Just not a good showing.

That's pretty much par for the course for the Mauk family

Nice people but they will eat their own for a win in a competition. I've never gotten the whole deal where people think the Mauk's have class, their program is known as one of the dirtiest in the WBL, they run up the score routinely, and they are smug about it. Not quite my idea of a "classy" guy or program.

"classy"- word that should never be used when referring to athletic competition. People say they look to sports to "build character" and learn "life lessons." Personally, I think that's a load of coach-speak.

Can't "officially" start til Mauk's resignation is acted on by the board, so it is still in its early stages.

Does the board have to have another meeting to accept his resignation. If that is true it will probably be in early feb. Hopefully they have talked to people in staff and can move rather quickly. I know that it sucks if a coach isn't hired until April or so. It puts the program behind

Schools have special board meetings all the time. Something smells fishy, I mean Kentony. LJ

People conveniently overlook class when it comes at the hands of winning. It's not football, but I can remember Dick Kortokrax being up upwards of thirty points on my high school and pressing with 2 minutes left in the game. It's not the only time it happened in my memory, yet you say one bad word about Dick K on the basketball forum and people will run you off in about 5 seconds flat. No it's true success and class are not mutually exclusive, but it's not impossible to do. Dick K could win 5,000 games and I'll never respect the way he coached.

It's not about liking it's about respecting. You can win with class or you can win without class.

Have nothing against Mauks
But they must be royalty over in Kenton.
How many state titles has he won?
2?
i know marion local coach has won 7 and has won 3peat!
I bwet he could go to bigger school and win to.
So lets get off Mauk sack and let them go on down the road.
And if it aint another Mauk coaching Kenton they are going to be as good in football as they are basketball  :bow2: :punk:

No offense but marion locals last title game was a cakewalk. How the heck did that other school even make it that far.

I understand your excitement but I don't see many quality teams In d6 or d7. I am not saying marion local is not a quality team. I am saying that it is hard to have a good program with smaller schools do therefore the competition is not as fierce.

Didnt Marion Local play some D2 or D3 schools on their schedule?
And like DSJ i know they do

I see your point but it is not an easy task to even MAKE the D6/7 playoffs when you play teams like ML does in the regular season. Then add in typically have to face DSJ in the playoffs, and the competition is plenty fierce.
