You hire the best coach that wants to be here.
The wing T, while having some advantages in the run game, doesn't allow for success thru the air.
There was no "fling" at Wapak the last 4 years.
Hopefully, whoever gets the nod brings a more balanced attack and utilizes all the athletes at his disposal

I agree Dartmaster63 it would be nice to have a more balanced attack. I have talked to alot of the kids on the team and they support Coach Patterson getting the job. He has ran the weights and conditioning along with Coach Huelskamp the past couple of years and also has been the defensive cordinator and was an assistant to Coach Frye for 8 or 9 years over at St. Mary's. The kids told me that Coach Patterson told them his kids were going to school already in the district and he wanted to be at Wapakoneta. It would probably have the least impact on the kids and he currently is running the morning and afternoon lifting sessions. I would think that Wapakoneta would get some decent candidates especially with the facilities and the record the last 4 years and the fact that this years team has about 7 players returning on both sides of the ball.

If Patterson is hired we would be running the wing T again. Think about the St. Marys game a few years ago when Frye opened the offense up think we had the Kraft kid from Elida that year huge passing and running numbers.

He probably would still run the wing t but maybe he would open it up a little more. I jus hope we get someone who will continue to build our program and someone who wants to be here.

Zerbe ran the spread for the first two years, then Morris came and brought his offense in.

Even Keith Olberman on ESPN is advertising the job at about 10 seconds in. Also, from what I hear keep an eye on Kevin Fell coming back.

I can't believe that Kevin Fell would want to come back but who knows, I do think they will get some good candidates to apply for the job

I was told Kevin was happy where he was. I couldn't see him coming back after how it ended.

Still think Wapak has to have a big name hire with Frye back in St. Marys. I laugh now at all these people in St. Marys who hated Frye didn't want him back but now jumping for joy. Think about he left your program went to your rivals built them up kicked your asses for 4 years now he is back.

On a side note Springfield Shawnee had to forfeit 5 games last season. Frye get credit for one more win?

Take it for what it's worth, but I heard former Waynesfield coach Gary Spencer is throwing his name in. He had some successful years at WG and took them to the playoffs twice, I believe.

I read a post earlier about Sidney football Coach Doengas. I think he should get a good look. He has done an outstanding job getting Sidney back to respectibility. Maybe he will apply and bring the D-Coordinator. I hear he is a future head coach in waiting kind of like Zimmer from the Bengals.

I haven't hear Doengas applying tho but would think he might be interested in coaching a contender.

Should we start the same topic with Kenton? Hearing Mauk is leaving tomorrow, unless his son of course just takes the reins.

Gator8 keeps throwing out all these names makes me think he has ties in Shelby county and Sidney Area...then Checking the other thread about about Frye staying or leaving its like he works with or for someone in st.marys or with ties to st marys.....

im thinking maybe like a admin, teacher, or aide and works with another admin, teacher, or aide from St. Marys

wouldnt it be crazy if Gator8 was an aide or teacher with one of Frye's sons, thats how he knew everything and was so sure....crazier what if it was a Frye at Sidney, where Gator8 may or may not have ties, which is in shelby county, so we see so many shelby county names

maybe im just thinking too much into it

It's kind of like how cleveland will react when lebron comes back to finish his career
