I know in the past Wapak was known for playing the name game with athletes here but I do not think that is the case anymore. I think Coach Frye put that to rest his first day here and I think the Administration has given Coach Frye everything he asked for and have supported him his entire time at Wapak. My personal opinion is Wapak would be a great job for many coaches because this community does support the school and the athletes, our athletes have some of the best facilities around and that shows the passion and support our kids get from this community. This community is hungry and wants a winner in all sporting events which is evident by the following we bring. The best way for a coach to handle this is to just let the administration and the parents know how you are going to handle things from the start. Coach Frye did that and I don't think he had any trouble with the Administration or the parents for the most part. Coaches live in a different world today and you have to win or you lose your job so I think most coaches play the best kids they have because their livelihood is on the line.

Mike Cramer wasn't too highly thought of at Marion Local....I think someone on here has a man crush on the guy
Always a watchful eyes on those Tiffin Calvert Senecas, Marion Local Flyers, Fort Loramie Redskins , New Albany Eagles.

As mentioned previously took a down and out Marion Local program and built it up. According to some- all the current coach has done is steer the ship that Cramer built.

All-American I know you were not the one to say it but I think Goodwin has done more than steer the ship at Marion Local. He has all seven of their state championships and he and Schulte at St. John's would probably have a couple more state title game appearances if they had didn't have to keep playing each other in the semifinals.

Mike Cramer also has coaching experience at the college level at BGSU and I think he may have been an assistant at Clyde.

Mike Cramer has not gotten the credit he deserves for resurrecting the Marion Local program. The reason he was not "highly thought of" was because he had to make some tough decisions to get that program going again. The guy has had success everywhere he has coached and would be a good fit at Wapakoneta.

What about Derek Kidwell he comes from a pretty good football back ground
Another potential candidate. Built the Fremont program back up but then struggled a bit when they joined a really tough league. Classy individual, no character or integrity concerns which should be attractive to the Wapak administration.

What about Doenges (sorry about spelling) from Sidney? I believe he played for frye and is good friend now to frye. He has built a bad Sidney program to respectable now.

Wouldn't it make more sense to hire someone from within so there is very little change to the system. If you were a struggling team I'd understand bringing in a fresh face but with the success they've had I would want to try to keep building on that. Are any on those teams a wing-t team (or wing and fling I should say)? I know Stokes spreads the ball out and he just left his alma mater at Urbana to coach in the MAC so I wouldn't understand that move? Would you want a guy thats jumped around a little bit? Cairns from Parkway also runs a spread system but I believe he ran some wing-t at Sidney so that could be an interesting hire.

Rioch is interesting to me. He's been at Anna since they started football and hasn't gotten over the hump since they began MAC play, so I could see him wanting to move on. And Wapak would be a short move. Likes to keep the ball on the ground too.

I doubt Zerbe will leave to go to Wapak. He has built that that program into a respectful and competitive. I have talked to him a couple of times and he loves it there.

The Zerbe name is very interesting. Has done alot with the small talent pool that Spencerville has. Imagine what he could do with a large talent pool Wapak has to offer and some motivated kids waiting for the St. Marys game.

Jim Morris? He's the one who brought the wing-t to spencerville.. I believe Zerbe tried running the spread his first year or two and wasnt too successful.

Thought they were taking applications to almost the end of the month then a couple of weeks to go thru potential hires. I wonder what direction Wapak would have went if Kevin Fell would have stayed longer in the program. Fom the list of names heard none of them excites me at all. Wapak needs a jaw opener hire like they did when Frye was announced. Wapak has had success with the wing T style offense do we hire a coach with this offense or the best qualified. One thing I plead with whoever gets the job PLEASE DONT CHANGE THE HELMET AGAIN. I HAVE A FATHEAD MADE OF OUR CURRENT HELMET HUNG UP IN MY MAN CAVE.
