I was at the Wapak wrestling match on Saturday and was told by an individual who works at Beer Barrel that Coach Frye has been in there frequently lately having lunch and meeting with some of St. Marys coaches and Administrators. The individual asked some of these people in attendance about Frye being there and they said they were meeting with him about returning to Coach at St. Marys. Evidently Coach Frye must have some interest in returning to coach at St. Marys to be meeting with people about the football job. If he is going to take this job he needs to do it soon so Wapak can have a opportunity to post a job opening in time to get applicants interviewed and get them going in the system. If Coach Frye is not interested in the St. Marys job and is staying at Wapak he should come out and state that and put it to bed.

Can't believe that Coach Frye would be stupid enough to meet at a local watering hole where "everyone knows his name" and discuss possible jobs..........don't believe it for a second that he met someone at the Beer Barrel..........I might believe that he met with someone in Celina, Lima, Delphos, or Kenton.....(no, not really Kenton )........if he leaves I would believe it........

Or Coach Frye still has many friends that he talks with in St. Marys occasionally.

well what is the St. Mary's A.D. saying? Heard last night at the DSJ/Marion Local game that Bo is going to apply for the job and if Bo gets the job Doug will follow. I asked one of Wapak's assistant coaches at the game last night what he was hearing and he just answered we all are hearing the rumors but to his knowledge Coach would be back, he said they had year end meetings, talked about where players would be playing next year and the coaches and kids all were given a complete schedule starting with winter weight lifting through two a days. He said Coach is the type of guy that if he is going to leave he would meet with staff and inform them before the media gets ahold of it.

Based on that fact that he hasn't come out and said one way or the other, that doesn't seem to be the case. If he's staying, why not just make everyone fully aware of it?

I really cant see St. Marys hiring Bo they need a established coach to turn program around.

Why should he have to announce he is staying? If every coach is going to be forced to publicly address every rumor about his future, there are going to be daily press briefings year round...
And even if he says he is staying, some folks still won't believe it...

Its just sad that Wapak Football is finally in a good situation and the uncertainy of the coach is questioned each year. Coach Frye has shown their is talent in Wapak to compete for a league title every year. I really try to not find out things from my daughter not my place but I was assured their are no high level meetings going on at the Beer Barrel. Sounds like St. Marys is going to wait a little while before announcing a coach. Makes you wonder if there waiting for the playoffs to end.

Your right Beezer, this uncertainy every year about if Coach is staying or going takes it's toll on the kids. I know they are asking alot of questions and wondering what is going on.

I talked to one of the assistant coaches today and asked him about Coach Frye staying or leaving and he said he had been told by a very reliable source that Coach Frye has met with St. Mary's about the head coaching position.

All joking aside, I think we will soon know if Coach Frye is staying at Wapakoneta or going back to St. Marys. My neighbor said he was told by a Wapakoneta School Board member that Coach Frye has met with St. Marys about the job and has until December 20th to give them an answer. The board member stated that Wapakoneta's A.D. and Principle both believe it is a done deal with Frye going back to St. Marys and his two son's will be given teaching positions at St. Marys.

I heard from Big Foot and the Loch Ness monster than Coach Frye was going to take time off to go hunt chupacabra, and that he will neither be at St. Marys or Wapak next year......
