Adios amigo! Appreciate what you did for the program now Wapak needs to make sure Frye regrets this decision for along time 2 names I have heard is Ben Mauck and the DSJ coach rumor about money issues there.
Todd Schulte will not take the Wapak job he is the AD at DSJ. I don't see that happening. Mauk possibly but when Mike Mauk retires from Kenton Ben will go right back there to take the head job.

45beer right here, even though he's the AD and head coach at DSJ, the money issue would be moot IF Wapak thought there was a chance of getting Schulte to travel southward........Mauk is an interesting choice and one not outside the realm of possibility....it would bring instant cred and now the kids from WG would have somewhere else to ply their wares in sports.......also a few of the other outlier schools would be fair game for the recruiting efforts of the new coach........RM

A friend of mine from St. Mary's said it will be finalized today that Coach Frye is the new head coach at St. Mary's and he will inform the Wapak football team today after school that he is leaving.
Great call.............another first for the RC. :bow2: :bow2: :bow2:

I would be surprised if Todd Schukte left the Jays program.....he is a DSJ alum and we do take care of our own.....I also think he would miss the MAC....I mean Wapak over DSJ.......really!!!!!!!!

Heard from one of the players that when he met with the team today to tell them he was leaving, he told them that he wasn't leaving to become a head coach, just an assistant coach at St. Mary's. If anyone else knows or heard the same thing, would be a nice confirmation.

It looks like the Wapak players didn't see this coming a lot of them sounded very mad. I don't blame them he stabbed them in the back like he did it to St Marys earlier.

But Wapak could offer Schulte or another coach the moon, or at least a lifetime pass to the Armstrong Space Museum :-)

Teddy, I have it on pretty good authority that the "real media" uses the RC to do the dirty work........WLIO announcer said that he spoke with the AD earlier in the day.......WLIO called down to ask if there was any truth.....Trusty Rusty said, "sure....he's leaving and we don't have a candidate yet to take his place....btw, what took so long?....it's been all over RocketCorner for the last few weeks!"

Just got off the telewire with a SM BOE member...they are talking a SWEET deal for their next "coach in waiting". Teaching and coaching contracts for ALL the Frye's. I asked if they weren't in a financial predicament at SM? They are but they haved moved some money around to make this work......also a pay increase for Coach Frye....AND that one of them will succeed when he retires in a few years.....RM

That is what I was told by a BOE member from Wapak that Frye would indeed be the next head coach, that they created a vitual academy teaching job for him like he had at Wapak and both son's would get teaching jobs.

The more this thing goes on and the more it drags out people are finding out just what type of person Doug Frye really is. After talking to several players who were at the meeting and he stood and told them he was basically just done with coaching and his wife wanted him to stop coaching, he said he would not be a head coach and did not say anything at all about him coaching over at St. Mary's to the kids and then Rocketman talks to a BOE from St. Mary's and finds out he will be head coach and getting a pay increase and his two boys teaching jobs. He has the right to pick and choose where he wants to coach, that is not the point but not telling the truth about this situation is. Why not just say I will be coaching at St. Mary's next year instead of using your wife as an escape goat that she doesn't want you coaching. This whole thing has been planned out down to the moment Coach Frye sent game film from Wapakoneta's football huddle system to St. Mary's system back in November, he knew then that he was going to be the next Coach at St. Mary's or he would not have sent the game film. Yet yesterday when he met with the team that he has coached for the last 4 years he did not care enough about them or respect them enough to man up and say I am going back to St. Mary's to be the head coach. One of the players summed it up best for a man who always preached trust and toughness he just showed us all what a lying coward he is.

This should be put up everywhere in the locker room in the weight room for the kids to read everytime they set foot in there. Hope this makes our kids work even harder. Wapak owes these kids a top notch coach to show Frye leaving Wapak was the worst decision he ever made in coaching.

Yeah, you won't find quality reporting and commentary like this with the 'real media'. :shrug2:
