[Rocketcorner News]

Only two weeks left in this season. Playoffs are coming and those in contention are fighting for spots. This is where the men separate themselves from the boys.

The Know It Alls are starting to spread out a little. Baker is still in first but just by 3 games over ROCKETMAN. Oberhaus is just 3 games behind RM and a couple others just one or two games further.

Last week was rough with no one better then 7-3. Lets see how this week will pan out.

Southview over Napoleon -- Napoleon's loss to Anthony Wayne last week was the deciding factor in this pick.

Kenton over Celina -- Kenton coach Mike Mauk coaching at state, son Maty playing in a BCS Bowl game, could happen.

Lake over Rossford -- Flyers got back on track last week against Elmwood.

Wauseon over Archbold -- Blue Streaks haven't beat a team with a winning record.

Col. Crawford over Upper Sandusky -- Make it five straight wins for Colonel Crawford.

Delta over Liberty Center -- Delta losing a lot of close games to good teams. This week the Panthers get it done.

Jefferson over Ada -- No hesitation here Jefferson looks like the class of the NWC this year.

Carey over Hopewell Loudon -- Carey wins out and they win a share of the MAL.

Mohawk over Calvert -- Warriors have been racking up big offensive numbers the last four weeks. This one will be an offensive slugfest.

Edon over Toledo Christian -- Except for Northwood, Edon has bombed everyone else in the TAAC.

This is a make or break week for the RM........I can probably guess that I will have many different picks from
the self-described gurus that are participating in this contest.......there is a saying that I take to heart often
when I'm playing golf, etc........"Go big, or Go home!"........I might be packing my bags after this week.........

5-3 Southview.........tough to pick against the Nappies, but I'll take the home team in the cold and wind Friday night

8-0 Kenton ............defense is going to win this game.........and Ktown's is pretty good

6-2 Lake...............taking a Flyer on this one

7-1 Wauseon........1 loss vs. 2 losses........hmmmm

7-1 Upper Sandusky.....Upper is headed to the playoffs for the first time in a long time

5-3 LC..................Delta's Dawn, what's that flower you got on

8-0 Jefferson.........no let up in sight vs. the 'Dawgs Friday night

5-3 Carey...............another one of those tossup games.......I'm guessing Bubba's gonna take the home team

4-4 Calvert............give me the Christians in this one

5-3 Toledo Christian.....double up on the Christians this week

Southview.........Napoleons loss against Anthony Wayne was a big disappointment. I like the Cougars to win at home.

Kenton......As much as I want to pick Celina I just don't see them pulling the upset. Especially with an injured QB.

Lake....... Bulldogs are much improved but I still like the Flyers. Their offense is dynamic.

Archbold.....I'm taking the Streaks to bounce back after loss to PH. And with Suntken out I think the Indians will struggle.

Upper Sandusky.....The Rams absolutely need to win.

Delta........The Panthers have given a lot of teams a scare. PH, Wauseon and Archbold. It's finally time for them to pull one out. Teams are a mirror image of each other. Vicars out coaches Rex.

Jefferson.......Ada is not the usual Ada. JeffCats roll.

Hopewell Loudon.....Just going on a hunch. My hunch worked last week with Hicksville so why not another H team.

Calvert.....Battle of two of the hottest 4-4 teams. Mohawk is riding 4 straight and Calvert has won 4 of 5. Taking the home team.

Toledo Christian.....If the same TC team that showed up against Northwood comes to play then they ride home happy.

SOUTHVIEW-Cougars still battling for a playoff spot…Napoleon surprised me last week losing at AW

KENTON-They’re a powerhouse right now. Not sure who can beat them.

LAKE-This will go a long way towards getting them into the playoffs. Rossford is good…but Lake is better.

WAUSEON-They have to have it…It’s been a great year…but winning the last 2 weeks are crucial.

UPPER SANDUSKY-Had a tough time here…but it’s another case of must win…

DELTA-They keep getting better…and the game doesn’t mean much for either team in terms of playoffs…

JEFFERSON-Trying to keep that unbeaten season going…Ada needs it more than they do…

CAREY-They’ll go on the road and win this one…

CALVERT-Huge for both teams…but I’ll go with the home team..

TOLEDO CHRISTIAN-I saw the Eagles last week…gave Northwood a run for their money…they can keep their playoff dreams alive..

Southview... Very evenly close matchup but I'll take Southview at home

Kenton... Again, it might be a few weeks or more before anyone challenges Kenton. Sherman and company put up 40+

Lake... I think Rettig puts up big numbers in picking up a big win for Lake

Wauseon... They need a big win if they have playoff hopes and with a week 10 trip to Patrick Henry, this might have to be it

Upper Sandusky... The Rams sit 10th in Region 12 so they need a big win here to keep pace if Lake and Wauseon win. I think they get it at home

Liberty Center... Both teams appear to be fighting for pride now. LC has lost to three teams with a combined three losses. I think they notch a solid win over Delta here

Jefferson... Ada controls their own destiny for playoff hopes but they face Jefferson and LCC on the road to end the season. I think Jefferson wins this at home though

Carey... The crazy MAL season is drawing close to an end. If this was last week, I'd pick Carey easily but H-L upset Seneca East last week. I still like Carey

Calvert... Despite a pair of 4-4 records, these might be two of the hottest teams in NW Ohio without a winning record. Calvert slugged out a win over SJCC, who likes to run, last week. Mohawk really likes to run but I think Calvert contains Gunnar Johnson enough for a win

Edon... Edon wins at home here, perhaps in the last few minutes

5-3 Napoleon @ 5-3 Southview - Napoleon won a close one a year ago, but I think the Cougars return the favor this season.

8-0 Kenton @ 7-1 Celina - Kenton just has too much firepower. Celina may keep it close early, but the Wildcats pull away late.

5-3 Rossford @ 6-2 Lake - I can't say enough about the job Mark Emans has done at Lake. The former Wauseon mentor will lead Lake to another victory.

6-2 Archbold @ 7-1 Wauseon - A classic NWOAL rivalry that goes way back. I like the Indians to pull this one out in a close game.

7-1 Col Crawford @ 7-1 Upper Sandusky - This one has all the makings of a classic. After flipping a coin, I'll take Upper Sandusky.

4-4 Delta @ 5-3 LC - Delta coach Mike Vicars and Liberty Center mentor Rex Lingruen know each other very, very well. I think Lingruen's Tigers find a way.

6-2 Ada @ 8-0 Jefferson - Should Jefferson be on upset alert? My magic 8-ball says ... not this week.

5-3 Carey @ 5-3 Hopewell Loudon - Hopewell-Loudon is fighting for its playoff life, and to me that means they'll play desperate enough to win.

4-4 Mohawk @ 4-4 Calvert - Calvert is sixth in computer points in Division VII, Region 24, Mohawk is 7th in same region. I'll take Calvert in a close one.

5-3 Toledo Christian @ 6-2 Edon - Talk about fighting for their playoff lives, Toledo Christian is ninth in Region 24 and Edon is 10th. I think the Bombers pull this one out.

6-2 Archbold @ 7-1 Wauseon Wauseon - similar teams, Archbold might have a tough time bouncing back from last week's loss.

7-1 Col Crawford @ 7-1 Upper Sandusky Upper - pick em game for me.

4-4 Delta @ 5-3 LC LC - this one's going to be a war. Fun to have Mike Vicars back in this battle.

6-2 Ada @ 8-0 Jefferson Jefferson - lots of points on the line.

4-4 Mohawk @ 4-4 Calvert Calvert - they need this one.

8-0 Kenton @ 7-1 Celina - Celina controls their own playoff destiny with two weeks remaining. However, that won't be the case heading into week 10. Kenton by 10!

5-3 Rossford @ 6-2 Lake - Lake wins this one. However, Rossford will give it their best shot as they're fighting for their playoff lives.

6-2 Archbold @ 7-1 Wauseon - Wauseon takes this one by two scores.

7-1 Col Crawford @ 7-1 Upper Sandusky - Upper Sandusky could win-out and still miss the playoffs at 9-1. They need this one more than the Eagles of CC.

4-4 Delta @ 5-3 LC - Delta sneaks out of here with a win.

6-2 Ada @ 8-0 Jefferson - I'm taking Jefferson in a wild one.

5-3 Carey @ 5-3 Hopewell Loudon - Carey has been on a mission after the loss at Calvert. Both of these teams are clinging onto a spot. I'll take the Blue Devils on the road.

4-4 Mohawk @ 4-4 Calvert - Wow, this is a tough one. The last time these rivals play each other in the MAL, seperated by less than 15 miles. Calvert has a couple of key injuries, including one at the RB spot. However, I can't go against the Senecas at home. Both these teams need one more win to secure a playoff spot.

5-3 Toledo Christian @ 6-2 Edon - I'm taking the Edon Bombers in this one. Loser will be sitting at home in week 11.

I also plan on going thru the playoffs...so come later rounds it will really get fun with the guessing.
