Here is a sample ledger on some of things that may go into this decision, if there is one to be made by either side of the parties involved.
Why he might stay or be kept:
1. He turned around a dorment football program, improved facilities, equipment, etc etc., doing what he was brought in to do.
2. Winning programs are more profitable than losing ones, even if you don't win "the big ones"
3. He is passionate, hard working, and those close to the program, players and parents seem to like him.
4. Without a league and the difficulties of future schedules, travel, and other issues, stability and experience would be desirable.
5. Mike Fell meaning he might not be ready to let his nemesis have Lima all to himself. lol
Why he might leave or be let go:
1. The coach has been here for nine years, several years past the well documented "shelf life" from previous stints.
2. He has been John Cooper successful, meaning lots of wins just not very many meaningful ones.
3. Seeming lack of discipline by some of his players both on and off the field. Recent teams seem to get alot more personal foul penalties than their opponents. Seemingly more kids getting in season game suspensions.
4. His sideline behavior, after game comments, ref and OHSAA bashing and other documented poor behavior in the public eye.
5. He could be ready to retire, a supposed replacement is on staff and the pipeline does not appear to be as fruitful in upcoming years.
6. Joining a new league, a difficult task as is, may be impossible as long as he is the coach given his public reputation.
I am sure there are more that could be added to both sides of the ledger. Just trying to steer the debate back on course. Personally, I think if he is not done on his owns terms he will only be here one more year tops. My question is with all the recent head coaching openings, will Coach Palte remain or will he look to get out of the LCC hot spotlight.

It would appear that among likely voters, we have reached the point in which those who benefit from status-quo out-number those who are harmed. LCC, as the primary area benefactor of athletic welfare, will always take the most criticism from those who disagree with status quo.
Anyhow, it is unfair to blame some mythical foe (OHSAA) when the OHSAA rules are nothing more than exactly what the member schools have voted for themselves.

Thank you for steering this back on course.
I think the most likely scenario (if he leaves) is that he retires (which he is now eligible for). He did name a "coach in waiting," so it clearly won't be too long before he leaves.
The second most likely scenario is that he chooses to leave for a different school.
I find it highly improbable that LCC would fire him or force his resignation.

Hate him or love him, he has been a winner. Goodluck to Jerry whenever he leaves.

yes I mean kids who have went to the school since kindergarten or have spent several years at the school not just someone who transfers in as a junior or senior in high school because the school has a good football or basketball program. Now I know there will be situations where families relocate because of jobs or families split up and the kids go one way or the other but for kids to just be able to open enroll or transfer to school and there physical address does not change I think is wrong.

If he went into the Ref's locker room after the game and berated them and OHSAA as has been reported in this thread, then I suppose given previous complaints made by refs a suspension could be rendered for next year???????

I don't want to get back off sibject, but I'm saying that the enviroment and academics have been better at LCC long before the younger son got to jr.high age. Therefore if thats what it's really about, the older son should of been at LCC also.
It's a joke that you think there are people in the LCC community hand picking kids and paying thousands of dollars so that they can watch them play basketball for two years. Who has the money or the obsession to do something like that?
...You can't continuously say that you personally know kids who were recruited and openly admit to it, but not give any names or specifics WHATSOEVER.
I don't know what you're talking about when you refer to Coach Q charging kids?
I also don't know if he has keys to the gym, but, if he does, why would that be a concern? There are plenty of people in the community who have keys to the gym/weight room/locker room/school in general.
