Wasn't Cooper in the top 5 for 93.1 30 for 30 greatest coaches? I haven't listen to that BS since the list came out.

There are more then 5 coaches currently coaching
that are better people and coaches then Jerry Cooper. People like Cooper always end up blaming other people for whatever misfortune that comes their way. The guy is a f---ing jerk, thats all there is to it. However he will end up at a another school that is of his liking if LCC pulls the plug on his career as a coach. A lot of times people like him always land on their feet somewhere else after a firing . They b.s. the school board of a school who is looking for a coach and they just start all over again and after a couple of years the same pattern of behavior resurfaces. More then likely that what will happen again.

If I remember correct Bob wasn't even in the top 10. I was done with the list right there. Anybody got the top 10 from that list.

I remember Cooper on Koza's show saying the NWC parted ways with LCC, because of football. That is interesting since they lost to two NWC members.(one in post-season).

Cooper's coaching style confuses me. It felt like for 3/4 of the game he paid no attention. Just pacing up and down the sideline really not even watching much of the game??

You don't have to coach too much when your offense only consists of three plays. Dive, Sweep, Bomb. Just sit back and watch the great athletes you've assembled dominate. Except when it counts.....

I would expect news in the ongoing saga on LCC's situation sometime during the state finals weekend.......like when I started this thread I do feel that the end is very near for Mr. Cooper at LCC......whether he ends up in some warmer southern clime enjoying his final days of coaching or whether there is some other school administration somewhere who will look past his boorish behavior, I don't know.......

What cannot be denied is his past successes.......the state title at CG and a couple of playoff runs while at LCC, the man has enjoyed some fine seasons......but with all that success (and the behavior that his school administrators had to put up with), one thing remains certain........A. there will be some AD, somewhere who will look past these issues and only look at his winning pct......B. if he wants to coach again, he will have no trouble finding a willing partner......C. I don't feel that it will happen though in the RC viewership area ;) ........he has brought LCC back to relevance in HS football, something that was truly missing down on S. Cable Rd......he has brought much more diversity to LCC's sports teams and student population which is also a good thing.....So I would like to be one of the first to wish Coach Cooper well on his next sojourn, wherever that may be......good luck RM

As an LCC apologist I agree with the majority of your post in what Coach Cooper has accomplished both before & during his time at LCC. He was brought in to turn around a long time struggling program & he did. He is obviously very passionate in his job & his emotion often gets the best of him as we've seen throughout his time at LCC. He did what he was brought into do but at what cost.

Inside & outside LCC, I think most people believe he is the sole reason LCC is no longer in the NWC. Obviously a fair assumption & no need to cite reasons of support. It is what it is. LCC perception around NW Ohio is not good IMO. Getting into a league is not gonna happen anytime soon.

I am disappointed for all the kids at LCC who no longer will have an opportunity to play for a conference title and league awards & likely won't be able to for years to come.

I don't know if Coach Cooper is staying or leaving but whatever happens I'm not sure the final tally was worth it. I wish him & his family well regardless of what happens. Despite his failings which have been widely documented & warrant criticism, he does have many positive values but perception is oft times reality and now we are paying the piper & that price will be paid by kids who don't play football.

Question: does anything think that Koza could possibly have an in-depth interview with Coach Cooper this week on his sports show? Maybe Koza could throw up a few more softball questions like: "Jerry, I know that you're disappointed that the season ended so suddenly, but if that call had gone LCC's way do you think you could have beaten.....so and so?" I've said it many times that Koza was much better on TV than on radio.......on TV the news was given to him and he just reported it.......nowadays he tries to inject his perceived knowledge of high school sports (and college and pro) into the conversation and he fails miserably.......he only knows what others tell him :whistling: .......

Although he did not help the NWC situation, Coop was not alone in why the marriage went south so soon... Frank " the buzz Kill" did a good job in alienating most of the league as well. In my opinion, if Segs had stayed on he would have been a better ambassador on the hard court for the T-Birds and might have had enough of a presence to keep things together league-wise. Or he might had seen enough and pushed for the separation. It would be interesting to see what he thinks. He was a prime lobbier on LCC's behalf to get into the NWC.

I know a couple guys that reffed that Crestview game. They said Jerry actually went into their locker room after the game and ripped them a new one. He then preceded to rip the assigner who gave these gentlemen the game assignment, a new one as well. As far as the officiating itself, I can't comment because I didn't see the game.

Yeah, I heard Coop chased the officials off the field........it was this kind of behavior that greased the skids for Chris Adams exit from Elida and looks to be the same for Coop. Temperament aside the two coaches have a lot in common when it comes to post season performance, or lack thereof.

The officiating had no effect on the outcome of this game. LCCs D looked like swiss cheese all night. I dont think coop is blaming the loss on the refs, (atleast I hope not) I just think hes frustrated with the officiating in general.

Congrats to crestview and good luck.

I feel that Jerry Cooper is done at LCC. He did do what he was brought in to do. That is win games...unfortunately that first run he had back in 2005 is nothing but a distant memory. He did that without all the voucher kids and that made LCC proud of their football again. When the program atmosphere changed fom true traditional catholic families that they had in the past to what player can I get next is when he lost his respect that he earned. The kids didn't seem to put it all out there like they had the first 6-7 years. IMO.

That's what I was getting at :)

There would be free vouchers for every kid in ohio on the taxpayers dime if they could figure out a way to get away with it.

Just like all other schools get free education. Except the LCC folks/parents are paying for both public and private schools.
