I have not heard anybody say how good Leipsic was I heard solid and great year considering what they lost. Both loses weren't close but I do feel they have improved I think it is DSJs region until proven other wise.

Meanwhile, Calvert has given up just 7.6 pts a game in their last 5 (All W's), and have a veteran offensive-line who leads the way for two underclassmen (Jr, Long at QB, So, Recker at RB) and Senior RB Austin Ball. We will continue to fly under the radar as well

Last night at the Mohawk vs. SJCC game I was commenting that it might be “better” for SJCC to lose the game. As it turned out that may have been true. SJCC now plays Arlington at home. I would assume Arlington wins that game. If they had lost to Mohawk they would have gotten Edon at home and the winner of Mohawk vs. Leipsic. I would bet SJCC had a much better chance against Edon. That of course means DSJ would have been out.
Mohawk was winning 18-7 at half. SJCC scored 21 unanswered points in the second half to win 28-18. Late in the first half SJCC fumbled deep in their own territory. SJCC was able to stop Mohawk for the first time on that series. If Mohawk scores before the half and goes up 24-7, I am not sure SJCC could have come back. Fate and irony.
DSJ fans must have been asking St. Joseph to pray for them last week in church.

I will most certainly be pulling for the two MAL teams. However, SJCC is going to have to find points through special teams and defense if they're going to win this one. The offense has had a tough time scoring all year.

Just to clarify in order to be overrated someone has to rate you. Where you are seeded is earned based on how you perform throughout the year in terms of Ws and Ls.

Those five wins that you mentioned Calvert ended up with to finish the season were against 5 teams with a combined record of 25-25. How much more mediocre can you get?
Actually the 6 wins Calvert has, was to teams that were 29-31.
What is your point with Leipsic?

Leipsic beat McComb, "at" McComb.
McComb beat Calvert 39-7.
If Leipsic is the most overrated #1 seed in OHSAA history....what does that say for Calvert as #4?
Just ask'n?

Bluetiger......
You are right on.......Leipsic deserves the number 1 seed, hands down.....they will be very tough to beat. I have always had the utmost respect for Leipsic....they have a great fan base and a great program......I also feel that way about McComb....2 outstanding football programs!!!!

And I know Leipsic has nothing but respect for all that DSJ accomplishes in all sports. Always thought of DSJ as a similar school to putnam county schools (with a lot more success) in terms of style of good hard working kids. I would like to call Leipsic and DSJ a tournament rivalry because the 2 seem to play exciting games late in the year but Leipsic hasn't done their part to make it a rivalry although have competed well just haven't got a W yet. I know Leipsic baseball team was beat few years in a row until finally getting over the hump couple years ago maybe there is a chance for the football team to get over the hump.
Leipsic and DSJ have meet in 2 regional finals, 1 regional semi final and this will be the 2 consecutive year they meet in first round.
1994 DSJ 34-20? @ Lima (regional final)
2009 DSJ 34-7 @ Lima (regional semi)
2011 DSJ 28-20 @ Findlay (regional final)
2012 DSJ 36-29 @ Leipsic (first round)
2013 ?? @ Leipsic (first round)
Leipsic's other playoff appearance in 2010 they lost to Ada 45-35 and Ada went on to lose to DSJ the following week.
