I would say Marion is a few scores better than last year. Covington could win, but it would still be an upset.

Marion by 20+ to be honest (If Bertke and co. are healthy).

No need to worry about injuries for Marion Local.....I've heard all year that their JV's could win the state title. So there should be no excuses for them losing.

They are the state champions and are the favorites until someone beats them.

I don;t believe Leipsic and PG can both end up at 7-3. likely one would be 6-4 with remaining schedule

I was looking at PG's schedule and only see them beating Arcadia in their final four games. This would leave them on the outside looking-in with a final total of 6 wins.

If the "experts" are correct, Leipsic and P-G could enter their week 10 matchup at 6-3, with making the playoffs on the line, just adding another incentive to a good rivalry game.

Actually, I believe if Leipsic enters this game at 6-3 they will already be in the playoffs. Their wins vs. Edinburgh IN (who has already won 4 games) and Hopewell (who also has 4 wins and may win a couple more) will lock them up for week 11. The fact that PG's two non-conference foes (JFK and CG) are both 1-5 may indeed leave this game as a must win for PG. Just a thought.....

D.7 Reg. 24 (Thru 7 Weeks)

Top 8

1. Fremont SJCC 5-2 8.7857 - Hosts Calvert this Week (SAT)
2. Arlington 5-2 8.3929 - Hosts winless Vanlue
3. Leipsic 6-1 7.7929 - Hosts unbeaten Liberty-Benton
4. McComb 6-1 7.7006 - Hosts (5-2) Pandora-Gilboa
5. Toledo Christian 5-2 5.9071 - Travels to (5-2) Northwood
6. Mohawk 3-4 5.3429 - Hosts Lakota
7. Tiffin Calvert 3-4 4.9929 - Travels to Region Leader Fremont SJCC (SAT)
8. Edon 5-2 4.9500 - Hosts Cardinal Stritch

Outside Looking In

9. Pandora-Gilboa 5-2 4.8442 - Travels to McComb
10. Hicksville 3-4 4.3714 - Hosts (6-1) Ayersville
11. Delphos St. John's 3-4 3.8429 - Must-Win at Versailles (3-4)

In my opinion, I don't see Toledo Christian finishing in the top 8 at the end of week 10. Northwood and Edon will trip them up in these next two weeks. #9 Pandora-Gilboa will need to beat either McComb or Leipsic to get in and I don't see that happening, so as I've said before, they will be on the outside looking-in as well.

Hicksville has a shot this weekend against (6-1) Ayersville. I'm leaning towards them knocking off Ayersville. DSJ needs a win or the Blue Jays will be watching the post-season. Mohawk has come out of nowhere with their strong rushing attack and have knocked off two D.6 Reg. 20 teams that had playoff hopes. Mohawk played a tough non-conference schedule early on, so this isn't all that surprising. Finally, Calvert can really help their playoff chances if they can knock-off SJCC this coming Saturday. Should be a quick game, as both teams love to pound the ball behind good offensive lines.

Don't count PG out of winning the Putnam County BVC Crown. They could beat their rivals in a winner-take-all, for the play-offs game. IMO

Big game tonight for the Senecas in Fremont. A lot of teams in Region 24 last night took care of business. However, the Senecas will have a tall task over in Fremont.

It was 4 scores of 1-play drives. Marion played really well and the backup QB Rethman played very well, and Coldwater didn't play to their potential. Biggest Marion victory over Coldwater in the series, which is 60 games.

I believe the top 7 are locked in. It is between Edon an Toledo Christian, who play next week, for the 8th spot.

That is unless DSJ falls in week 9 or 10 and/or PG wins out.
