alot of people "felt" their cousin John Doe Baller would be in the NBA, feelings are illogical, as is trying to predict a HS players prospects at an NBA future. Mathias has a pure jumper, great court vision and can dish as well as anyone in our area...but he is not the second coming.
a little more size on him and continues to improve, Xavier Simpson has the potential to a great player from this area also. I'm certainly not an LCC shill, but I say that to show a couple of local youngsters could make an impact at the NCAA level... anything further than that, is a guess.

I disagree with this. Jon Diebler was an average shooter in H.S. He was very talented, but scored a lot because his dad was the coach and he had the green light to shoot 40 times a game. Dakota is a better shooter and passer as a junior in H.S. than Diebler was. I would also rate Mathias as a better ball handler. Much of Diebler's success resulted from coaching philosphy and style of play. Don't get me wrong, I really liked Jon Diebler, but I think Mathias is more talented at the same stage of their careers. Just my opinion. I'm not going to comment on the NBA thing. It is way to early for that.

Fact is, there are almost 350 division 1 schools in the NCAA. Factor in 5 starters on each, and there's almost 2000 kids starting in D1 every year. Now I understand most are at schools that get not attention and will never even get noticed by an NBA scout....but every once in a while a small school kid comes up and ends up a lottery pick, so we can't just count them all out. So that's almost 2000 kids fighting to get drafted every year.....for 60 draft spots. And that's not even factoring in all the international players that are draft eligible and decide to come out. The odds are simply against him. Even if he becomes a great D1 player, the odds are against him.
I hope he gets there, but let's not get ahead of ourselves before the kid even steps foot on a college floor.
