A boys dream because she was mute
All was sublime
Til I learned how to sign
Then all of my points became moot

You should post this on every message board in the world....maybe if you did, there would be no more "mute" points....

Good list. Can always think of some Fort Recovery girls that "could" be up there. Like Kathy Lennartz (played at Toledo), Sara Heitkamp (played at Capitol) Mandy Hastings (played at UC)….

After two trips to state and a state championship, she is averaging 19.0 ppg, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 1+ steals per game at the D1 level. And a great kid.

Rothman also made a helluva shot in the 2003 semi-final - was that at halftime or the end of the game?

all of the girls that have been mentioned are deserving.........but if he were to say "I contacted some local coaches"
this would have made more sense..........and not knowing who Usha asked to be a part of this poll I have my doubts on the results.....

The educational part is that there are alot of really good high school players who don't go to college, don't play ball, or just wash out. AND, it's educational for people to see that just because you are all league or all state doesn't mean all the big ten schools will come to recruit you. There is not, is NOT, alot of PAID (scholarship) opportunites to play beyond high school. A good part of D2 and all of D3 and some NAIA is pay to play.
Sadly, the expense of a college education is keeping many of these good, but not great athletes from playing beyond high school.

I'm pretty sure Vanessa did not reach 2,000 points. I don't think any player, boy or girl, in the 6 county NW OH area (Williams, Fulton, Defiance, Henry, Paulding or Putnam) has ever reached 2,000 points. Dan Neff - Ayersville, Vanessa Rothman - Holgate, Jenni Heisler - Edgerton, Fritz - Farmer in 1940's, all scored over 1,900. There may be others. Vanessa also played in over 100 varsity games - a rare achievement, so did Dan Neff.
